My husband was taken into the Emergency Room and then was in the Progressive Care Unit. I had wanted the Paramedics to take him to AAMC but because of an ice storm they had to go to the closest hospital. His treatment really was five star. The emergency room staff were great. He spent over a week in the Progressive Care Unit and they were all outstanding. Everyone- the Housekeeping staff(Beverly was a joy), nurses, techs, doctors, people who took meal orders and then delivered the food, respiratory therapists- went way beyond our expectations.

02-08-2018 We arrived at 1700hrs. My wife has a uvalien cyst that ruptured. The staff checked us in quickly I was very impressed. Now it's 2151 hrs and we are still waiting for her test results. I don't care to much for sitting in a room of sick people. But we have to do what we have too. My only issues is the wait time. We are still waiting.

This is the most slowest hospital. I was there yesterday 02/08/2018 for my son he is 5 months. My son was supposed to be seen I told the nurses that he was coughing so bad that you could hear in his chest! And that he was wheezing. We got to the hospital around 8:20 p.m they didn't call my son back , we were in the waiting room till 12 p.m , we finally decided to get up and leave. AND They didn't even call my phone later LIKE THEY USUALLY DO! to see if my son was OK. VERY UNORGANIZED FACILITY.

I went in with a 105° fever at about 5 in the morning. It was a low traffic period, but I am still impressed with how quickly they got me in and IV fluids started (especially with the reviews here) as soon as I got in a bed (maybe 20 min max reception to triage to bed). On top of that, it was the end of the night shift so I was prepared for anything since working the night shift sucks, I wasn't traumatic (although very acute), and the nurses and doctor need to finish their paperwork which sucks, but is the reality of US healthcare nowadays. I was expecting decent care, but they went above and beyond according to my feverish brain. They didn't give me a blanket, but the nurse explained it was to help my body cool down from such a high fever. She did give me a sheet which helped the chills. The nurses were way ahead of the doc (getting my chest x-rays done sooner rather than later for the doc to diagnose my pneumonia) which demonstrates how well they work together. The doctor didn't let the end of his shift impact his bedside manner, management of my care, and accurate diagnosis of my health issue at all. He was the most attentive doctor I've seen in long while. Overall 5 stars for taking care of me so well.

Brought my boyfriend into the hospital at 4:30 Pm after being ordered to come by patient first. Patient first sent over an order for him to be seen. We waited four and a half hours in the waiting room with his fever increasing (the nurse later informed us the average wait for this hospital this time of year is 12.5 hours before being taken back to be seen by a doctor). When they brought him back we waited another 30 to 45 minutes before his vitals were even checked by a nurse. They ordered simple tests like a flu test and a strep test. The lab lost the tests, and they came in to take the cultures again, after waiting over 2 hours for the results, before anyone even bothered to check what was wrong (which they informed us should have only taken 15 minutes). They forgot his name when writing up labels, transferred him between doctors and nurses three times and we didn’t get discharged until after midnight and the only results we received before leaving were his urine culture, flu and strep cultures. Blood work had to be “sent out.” The nurses were disorganized, the rooms were dirty (IN A HOSPITAL!!!) and the care was obismal. Unfortunately if ever in an emergency we will have to go out of our way to never come back here again!!! It’s places like this that make you want to lose faith in the healthcare system.
