Story

In August of 1993, we were confounded by six women. Due to the closing of another salon in town. These women found themselves unemployed and in a tight spot. Local business owners Jan Kinnison and Rebecca Power took the six woman under their wing; providing them with the great idea to open their own shop. Being that none of the women had ever ran a business they turned to Jan and Rebecca to mentor them. Jan decided to purchase a building and this opened up a whole new path for these six woman. Within a month few months of Jan purchasing the new building, and a little help from some old and new friends, the Kutting Krew Salon was born.

After over a decade of being in business, we were opened to a Golden opportunity. When Jan first bought the building, she had to buy the building next door to the salon as well. The business next to the salon was closing so Jan saw the perfect chance to expand and renovate the entire space.

In 2005, the changes had begun. The salon expanded to 8 chairs and what used to be Alma Tallman's Sewing Shop, was now a full day spa. With the spa came new services like: tanning, full body waxing, facials, massages, and pedicures. Along with the new additions came a new name, Unique Salon and Spa!

Today, Unique Salon and Spa is located in the same picturesque downtown Atlantic location. The hardworking employees that operate the shop, provide extraordinary salon services that customers have come to know and love!
