I live in the area and ship packages 1-2 times per week from this location.  Yes, the wait can be long, but that's because the space is small and often there's only one or two employees working.  However, these employees are always incredibly nice, patient, and... somehow... in a good mood!  That place would stress me out, but they manage to stay calm.  I've seen them handle a number of different issues- including a lost package that should have been delivered to me.  After calling the head office and talking to them, they told me to stick around because they knew exactly which truck it was on and knew that it was going to be swinging through soon.  SUPER helpful.

This location was empty when I got there around 11:15am
One person working and provided me with quick and friendly service.
With that said I can see if more than a few people came here how the lobby / waiting area could get crowded quickly.

The entrance on Jackson is to the PO Box area only and it does not connect to the main post office.
The entrance to the post office is on Maynard into a nondescript entry into an apartment a right into the post office space.

While the place isn't necessarily perfectly on time (opening at 8:47a vs. 8:43a like some higher customer service orgs) and you might need to "know your rules" or they might be a little touchy with you, the girl I dealt with was incredibly friendly and smart.  

Very convenient for the folks here in the ID.

I had a terrible experience with the workers at this branch. We wanted to file a claim for the damage that was send from overseas. I was instructed by the post office operator on the phone to file the complain at the office. So, I came. However, They told us to come back with the complete package and we had to submit the damaged item (laptop) to postal service for verification. So, we came back a few days later by arranging to be okay without the laptop. When we came back, they said I have to file it on the phone with claim department. So, the first attendant lied to us. Basically she pretended that she knew the process while she had no idea. Eventually, we come back with the laptop. I was very annoyed by this so, I called the claim department in front of them. This process took 50 mins. The operator clearly verified and passed the message. This dishonesty  made me so upset.  Terrible customer service!

I sent a postcard from here, to Europe. My friend received it tored apart, with only the adress side. French post sent it in a letter, saying they received it from US with this dammage. Disapointed.
