When I called about Mr Gibbs, our Dachshund they were very helpful. An hour later I was on my way to the hospital with him. The care and affection these people show the pets is just amazing. I always know that, even though he is an hour away from home, he is getting the best care available. Mr. Gibbs would like to thank everyone again for taking such good care of him. HE would only like to make one suggestion...... memory foam beds in the cages, as this is what he is accustomed to sleeping on at home. Mom and Dad Larson would just like to say thank you so much for taking such good care of our baby.

I brought my cat here when he injured his eye. I was told it would cost $130.00 just to look at him. The I told it would cost $250.00. With all the meds they gave me it ended up being over $400.00. Then they told me that my cat needed a surgery to remove my cats eye and it would cost $2,000.00. Long story short I took my cat somewhere else and they are doing the surgery for $200.00. I will never take an animal there ever again all they care about is money.

Only reason I give them one star is to leave this review. We took our little Maggie girl there on Mother's Day, she had a problem breathing. They never could tell me what was honing on with her. ( we were there around 5-6 hrs) they gave her oxygen, got her level back up to 99%. We wanted to bring her home with us, but they said it would be best to leave her and pick her up on Monday. ( they reassured me they would take good care of her) and I believe the first shift of students and vets did. Our problem came from a shift change. The second shift of docs really didn't care, they kept her sadated and in the oxygen chambers all night. We received a call on Monday that Maggie took a turn for the worst. We go up there and totally heartless doc. Didn't know what she was talking about. Well we ended up putting little Maggie down and having her lungs sent to Michigan to find out what happened. Got results back and a simple antibiotic would have cured her. Broncilites was the problem. It's really sad when ppl take their pets to a facility like this and trust that they will care for your pet like their own. Instead they really don't care...... it's all about the $$. Don't make the same mistake we made please find a good vet.

I can't function still after 2 months of loosing my beloved Jabby. I understand he was a 10 yr. old Boxer but they sent him home on Friday night of Memorial weekend acting like he was fine. I was there for 4 hours telling them he was not fine, was not breathing right and walked me out to the car and sent me on my way. I got to ST. Louis at 9:15 only to rush him to the emergency clinic at 10:15. He was dead the next morning. On top of all of this my mother in law was a major donor to this place. I spent a fortune there and I felt that I got treated like a fool. On top of this I cannot forgive myself for having him suffer unnecessarily. I have never had such a hard time getting over the loss of my pet. I have loved them all but this is inexcusable. I have had so much pain and suffering over this and can't seem to get over it. I will never take another pet there. I felt like I have spent thousands there for nothing. They called me and asked my what they could do? I don't know what to do. They should tell me since they know so much. #sadderthansad Well here it is March and Jabby has been gone 9 months. Things are no better and I am not any happier with the University. I get that it is a teaching hospital but it is also for emergencies and they have left dogs in the hands of interns that are not capable of taking care of them. I see people that have taken their dogs there on Holidays. That is a big problem. I feel like Jabby being there at the beginning of Memorial Weekend was a huge downfall. They were anxious to go celebrate Memorial weekend with their family and sent my dog with me on a trip from hell on Highway 70 to St. Louis for me to rush him to VSS and have him die there because of their lack of knowledge at Mizzou. I wish we could all get a class action suit going but it's Mizzou so we would probably not win.

We took our dog Holly to MU for a cancerous tumor that no other doctor would/could touch. Their thoughtfulness, compassion, and medical expertise was superb. I am so grateful for all their hard work and loving hearts.
