After several visits to this dental office what stands out is they're always consistent with professional customer service, cleanliness and upfront about the work you'll need with no hidden surprises.  Dr. Shirley does a great job with keeping teeth looking as natural as possible. For example I can't remember which tooth he did a filling for a cavity in the past because it matches & fits so well to this day.  Ambiance is relaxing. As a repeat customer I recommend this dental office worth trying if you're unsure where to go.  Plus they have great hours!

Made an appointment because there website says they do emergency tooth extraction, which is what i desperately needed. When i got to my appointment,  I could not see the doctor until i called my insurance to make them my primary dental care ( mind you, this is my first visit! I do not know how good they are for me to make an unnessary change so soon) 

Anyways, so i changed them to my primary and got my request for an emergency visit. Did my xray with the nurse and then i Saw the doctor, he didnt introduce himself nor did he look really happy to see a customer. Took one look at the extra and said "we cant do this extraction, i can give you a referral to go somewhere elae. 

😡😡😡

Now im pissed because i took a whole day off work to get my tooth extracted since thats what they advertised on there website just to go through a bunch of hoops to see some rude ass doctor and leave with nothing. I wont be back... 

1 star for the receptionist cuz she was the only helpful person in there. 

Word of advise, take down that emergency tooth extractions from your list of services cuz clearly yall do not do that!

I smile now with pride and that's because of a dentist who cares and took his time with me.  The process was amazing, the staff was helpful.

Upper West Side Dental is fantastic!  Dr. Shirley is caring and meticulous.  He is also very focused and knowledgeable.  The dental care you get is better than I am accustomed to since it is very obvious that he places a high priority on preventive care.  Additionally his office is very clean and inviting and his staff is very friendly and professional.  He is a great asset to our community.

Called to schedule an appointment was receptionist was  extremely confused on what insurances are accepted. I asked how much the out of pocket visit was she said it was $465  with a $90 deposit but didn't know what was included and could cost more if more "work" was needed.
