With a full-service hospital located in Greenville, South Carolina and an outpatient clinic located in Asheville, North Carolina, Upstate Veterinary Specialists provides advanced medical, surgical, neurological, cancer, dental, and eye care for pets in Upstate South Carolina, Western North Carolina, and Northern Georgia. We offer a broad range of advanced medical technologies and skilled, compassionate care in state-of-the-art facilities. We take patients by referral only. This means that your regular veterinarian must contact us prior to you making an appointment. We will work in conjunction with your veterinarian and you to make the best choices for you and your pet.

Upstate Veterinary Specialists is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. UVS chose to be continually evaluated for accreditation by AAHA because it challenges us to stay at the forefront of all the latest changes in veterinary medicine and practice operations. AAHA has truly helped us reach our goal of providing the best in personal, quality care for our patients and clients. And in 2011 UVS was honored for its work by receiving the award of Specialty Hospital of the Year in North America from AAH

Upstate vet did a fantastic job with my dogs elbow surgery. They were very transparent about the whole process and recovery in the consultation. They even we're able to help me get my pup out to and into my car as I had 2 kiddos with me. 6 months post op and she is doing fantastic!

Excellent doctors and staff.  I am so fortunate to have a facility like this close to me.  Many of my pets have received treatment there and I have never questioned the quality of their care.

Rarely have I ever seen such a well-staffed veterinary hospital full of specialists outside of the top university veterinary teaching hospitals. The credentials of these doctors are truly impressive, and their work, as I've experienced it, shows it.

Almost five years ago, our then very young Standard Poodle was literally run over by a car while chasing a squirrel.  She miraculously survived, but her hip  was virtually crushed.  A respected veterinarian in town made an effort to repair and rebuild the hip but eventually recommended that we take her to Upstate Veterinary Specialists.  There, a team of Veterinary Orthopedists gave us several options, including some traditional procedures which would typically result in a 85 - 90% recovery.  They also offered a new, radical procedure which they believed would restore 100% usage to her hip. It was our understanding that this type of surgery would utilize some innovative procedures not then commonly used in veterinary medicine. We opted for the new procedure which included two months of rehab. Bottom line is that today, Annie is an intelligent, athletic, and extremely energetic dog who astounds other dog owners with her speed and leaping ability. Her full recovery certainly contributed to her developing into a great friend and family member. Credit goes to the caring and highly qualified staff at UVS who can accomplish amazing things. If you and your pet face some difficult times, go see Upstate Veterinary Specialists...your best friend will thank you.
