Came into offensiveness and discrimination from the staff. I bought a prepaid priority mail and put inside a regular mail and requested to certify the outside mail. I was told priority mail takes two days to arrive, and I said OK to show my understanding of the estimates of arrival time of the inside mail. But when I checked out, I was charged with two priority mails. One female staff said when she said it took two days, that means she was asking if I need to elevate my outside mail to priority and I should say yes/no, teaching me English and arguing loudly in the hallway. I said I thought she refers to the estimated time inside priority mail I prepaid and suggest she could directly ask more clearly. She insisted that's the way they are trained to do; later on, when I asked to speak to their manager, another staff next to her said I was asking them to do something they could not do. If that's the rule as they alleged, why this is the first time I came into confusion in USPS for the past 10 years? I have never had such problems in USPS before I came to this office. And she did not allow me to speak and kept talking all the way down. Both of them were quite rude and offensive. They behaved like they have the rules and they are the King; everyone else being inferior. At least, as a human being, they should be kind, reasonable and try not to argue with people/customers and could do their jobs in a better way. I also concur with Justice Thomas that people should stand on their legs solidly.
The staff at this location are horribly unprofessional and incompetent. They have lost several of my packages over the years and asking for help is a complete waste of time. The supervisory staff are incredibly rude and have no issue yelling at you in front of the customers. The front staff are lazy and will do what they can to avoid helping you, only to refer you to a supervisor whch I've waited an hour to see before only to be yelled at. It's a shame this is the Gainesville hub and the place we HAVE to deal with for issues. I totally see why the post office is in trouble.
Chaos. Huge line, rude front desk worker tells me flippantly to go stand by some amorphous blob of people near a side door to get my package. No one told anyone to do this for packages, nor were there any signs indicating to do so. One person even asked if we needed to wait elsewhere for package pick up and they were ignored and allowed to wait in the huge line just like me. Super unprofessional. And none of the local usps locations seemed to be able to figure out which one had my package. Would just use fedex all the time if possible. This package I needed was for time sensitive medication so i really do not appreciate the run around.
If there is a worst Post Office in America, this one gets a first place. mean spirted, unhelpful, Nasty people that have no accountable Supervision. Go to the 34th street office instead.
It’s Saturday morning 8:50am. Me and 20 other folks are waiting for staff to open the place and nothing. We hear the staff in the back and one guy opened his mailbox to ask for a supervisor 10 minutes ago, nothing! It’s the post office! It appears the professionalism usually associated with federal agencies has missed this office. I am disappointed! No one even has the courtesy of even coming out to say why the delay is happening. This can’t be normal or what’s expected of federal employees!
This post office is a joke. I have had nothing but issues with delivery of my packages. I have literally been in there waiting for someone to find my package for 45 mins to an hour. They seriously need to do better.
This is literally the worst run post office in America. I can’t imagine it being more poorly run. I’ve NEVER had to wait 6 weeks to be given a key to my mailbox when I move somewhere, which causes all sorts of issues and inconveniences for deliveries and mail. And the wait times are horrendous for all our visits to pick up our mail and packages if they haven’t already been misplaced. Other reviewers are saying they’ve been waiting SIX MONTHS. For a KEY. *UPDATE* It took five months to get our mailbox key. And we only got it after speaking to them SEVERAL times in person and finally asking for the manager.
Worst post office I've ever been to in my life. Estimated wait time is always at least 30 minutes. Unhelpful, and have lost many of my packages. Low staff. Waited 15 minutes for someone to simply come help customers because the one register that was open was broken. it was 15 minutes of no customers being helped and a line developing out the door the whole time.
Heather and Beth are so sweet! They both helped me when I came in at the last minute to get my held mail and to mail a package. I really appreciate their kindness and patience.
4 days... that's how long I've been calling this post office. It might seem obsessive but I've been calling 12-21 times per day for 4 days and not once has anyone answered the phone. I have a package going to a customer that has been marked "out for delivery" for 4 days now. I have 4 phone numbers for this post office, including the number of a supervisor left a voice message and still no response or resolution. How is this possible in this day and age that a company can treat customers like this. I'm not letting go of this. I will call Mr. USPS if I have to but this type of behavior has to be addressed. and no, I don't particularly care if the answer is "we're understaffed"... judging by the 2 star review of this post office, this is not new
