DO NOT USE THIS POST OFFICE.  When I was a student (2013-2015) the workers consistently lost/misplaced incoming and outgoing packages. Out going packages were often keyed in incorrectly to cause overpayment. Incoming letters that looked like birthday cards mysteriously went missing. This happened so many times that I had to call a Special Investigator from USPS, who did a formal investigation of this location, and discovered that a post office employee was stealing mail from Gallaudet students. Thankfully that person is now in jail. Anyone who has mail go missing at this location multiple times, contact USPS HDQ and file a complaint! However, any issue beyond picking up your mail is usually met with a shrug by the employees who bother helping you. I went back recently and was met with the same terrible experience as before. Never again.

This post office is serving only the Gallaudet University students and staff since most of the transactions are links to their student/employee IDs. Please don't spend your time coming here because they will refuse service to outsider.

I haven't been here... Well technically, I drove all the way here to find out they only serve staff and students. The lady was nice although I wish they stated that online. The

I have personally witnessed this Gallaudet post office location often lose people's mail packages and envelopes during my stay since 2008 to 2015. In June 2016 it was my turn when they lost my package with contents valuing at several hundred dollars. The package was never being scanned into the system or being sent, so I couldn't file a complaint as there is no evidence of its whereabouts. When I complained at the office, they had no effort to take it seriously and lacked effort to search the place. I was left with no help and a missing package/lost money. I will NEVER come back again, the workers at this place are NOT responsible and will NOT care or accept any responsibility at all if they lose your packages or envelopes.
