The USCIS Newark staff are very professional and recommends clear information for all visitors to be aware of how to process their requests of documents or immigration related questions. I'd recommend to set an appointment through the USCIS appointment site. The appointment offers a schedule of a weekday that's 14 days apart from the present day of scheduling. There is a walk in station however it would result for a staff to recommend the visitor to schedule an appointment like everyone else. Recommendation to schedule is to look into scheduling online as early as possible. Around 1-2am the new schedule availability shows up for those scheduling for the weekday (that would be 14 days apart from the present day). Regardless , if the day of the week is a non- business day for the USCIS field office , appointments will not be available to schedule until the actual business day. Always be prepared with all possible documents that are related to your case and a proper form of ID (recommend passport). To renew your I-797 action form , there is no costs, in case you needed this information. You need your Passport, Online Appointment Scheduled paper, your I-797 action form and if available take your Biometrics appointment paper in case it's needed for questioning. For all other inquiries, call the USCIS customer service line and they will provide every answer you need. This is information I specifically wanted to pass on since questions about appointment scheduling and walk ins are one of the main questions asked. There is no form of contact to the USCIS office but only the customer service line. Good luck to all!

A very clean and efficient Govt office. I have been to this place twice and its location is very well accessible being near to NJTransit. The staffs are very helpful and security procedures are very intense.

The worst service ever. The security officers tend to know more about the cases of people than the legal USCIS agents. A black chunky lady, didn't let me even pass the door to speak to someone qualified about my case, just because i did not want to tell her my situation. She pretended to "know every thing"and started to show a bad attitude with me. That's why government sucks and the people who assign themselves to duties that do not belong to them get insulted and cursed. Managers should really pay attention to this kind of situations. Security officers are not there to tell you what you have to do with your specific case, because they are not qualified to do so. That's why there are trained people to handle immigration cases according to the law. This lady should be fired for sure.

Early the beginning of the year, my wife and I had an appointment at that building office. Everything went well, the scheduled timing was accurate, we had a very professional work done done , it was a vey pleasant being there for the interview and the officer was very professional and polite. Nice.

I can't still understand the rules and policies for this government office. When going for the citizenship interview, they said that they don't allow family member for translator but then in the same caae they do allow family member for translator. So confused! My mom was scheduled for an interview for the citizenship today. My mom has issues with her health and can't remember things so she passed the medical test for the immigration (she can have a translator with her at the interview) I took the day off of work and took her to this office and the lady said we can't find any translator so we will reschedule her. In the same case they allowed my neighbor with her mom(family member). There are few others I know they went to this office for the citizenship interview with a family member and they succeeded.. This is ridiculous!
