This department is probably the most incompetent in all of Valley Medical. I requested to have my prescription sent to my pharmacy and waited for almost a week and nothing was done. On top of that, they also denied it which was documented on the message that they sent me on mychart online. I’ve already been to their office beforehand but they treated me like I’ve never been there. I was a Valley Medical patient for 13 years and also had the same pharmacy for the same period but not getting my medications was totally unacceptable on Valley Cardiology’s part. I called the office 3 times during the week and was promised to have my prescriptions ready but the weekend comes along and nothing was sent. I did not even get a single call or follow up by any staff in their department. It could have been detrimental to my health when a few of those heart medications were skipped. Dr. Choudhury and his nurse should have known that but they repeatedly ignored my requests to have my medications filled. So I finally ran out of medications over the weekend. Luckily, I was able to get a hold of the doctor who performed my surgery from another state and he was able to arrange my prescriptions filled here in this state. He even called me from 1200 miles away to check up on me. So the following week comes along, I decided to complain to the head of Valley Cardiology. After complaining about the situation to my primary physicians office and the Cardio department, they finally approved my medications ...on the same day. But it was too little too late. They even called the pharmacy and myself that they approved it to atone for their mistakes. But why do it when it is too late? Why do the right thing now but kept ignoring me the week before? One thing I’m assured of is that I would never trust that department and would avoid being referred to Valley Medical Cardiology clinic ever again.

The only reason I am rating this a 5 is because of my cardiologist, Dr. Subherwal, he is a great dr and very easy to talk to. As for his assistant(s) etc. (The ladies that call you back if you have questions) they are rude, won't listen to what you are saying and obviously don't know how to read a medical chart, which could be bad if it pertains to medications that are necessary to keep you alive (thank god one of the medications that I have to take isn't for that reason). Again, Dr. Subherwal is an amazing dr and I would definitely recommend him.
