Good place to check out the latest Vans, nice and knowledgeable staff with no pressure, unlike Journeys in the mall. Stay away from Journeys, which I would give one star. Since this review is about Vans though, I will give it 5 stars and recommend you go to Vans if you like Vans shoes. They also have Vans brand Vans shoe protector spray to keep your Vans looking the way Vans intended for as long as possible.

On the afternoon of March 16, 2016, at 5:00, I went in to the Vans downtown to buy a pair of shoes. I had already decided which pair I was going to buy the night before online, but I wanted to make sure they fit, so I went to the store. Upon entering, an associate at the counter greeted me. I walked toward the back, where they keep the shoes, and saw that two other associates were helping customers in that area. I found the shoes I wanted, and I waited for one of the two sales associates to wrap up what they were doing or to approach me. Neither happened, but that's okay. They were busy. After heading to the back to retrieve a few pairs of shoes for other customers, an associate asked me on his way back onto the floor, "Are you waiting for shoes?" I said, "No, I haven't been helped yet." He walked away, and so I continued my wait. Eventually I caught the eye of the other sales associate, but as I approached, he said to me, "We'll be with you in a second." Okay. I'm not a child, and I don't need an apology for the inconvenience (though it was strange that it wasn't offered). So I continued to wait. And wait. I checked my watch, and the time was 5:12. I'd been waiting for nearly fifteen minutes. The reason I remember the time so clearly is that I had left my office at 4:53 and had checked my phone as I entered the store, just a minute or two before five. So I kept waiting. Eventually, a few minutes later, I saw the associate who had greeted me when I entered the store. He was coming out of the back room with a shopping bag and a Starbucks drink. I thought he must've gone on his break, but he quickly announced to one of his co-workers, "I'm out!" and the co-worker replied, "Thanks, man, you were so helpful today." Now, I've been patient, but I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with that statement. How is it helpful when your store is in the middle of a post-work rush, when people are standing around waiting to be helped, to call it a day and head home without waiting for your relief? I mean, I've worked shift jobs like that before, and you don't just head out when your scheduled shift is over. You leave when your replacement is on the floor and ready to work. Otherwise you get complaints like these! Anyway, this isn't the first time I've run into terrible service at Vans downtown, but it's probably the most frustrating. I hate feeling invisible when I need help. And, unfortunately, a shoe store is one place where you truly do need to wait to be helped. So don't go to Vans in downtown Seattle. Shop online and save yourself the hassle. They don't care about you or your business either way. UPDATE: A regional manager for Van's got in touch with me after I lodged this complaint. She was very friendly, and she asked if she could give my contact details to the store manager of the Van's in downtown Seattle, so that they could also reach out to me. I agreed and told her when the best times were to reach me. Two and a half months passed with no response. So two weeks ago, I followed up with the regional manager, to let her know there's still no accountability in this company. Two weeks later, having received no response since that first e-mail three months ago, I felt compelled to add this update.

Great experience buying a complete skateboard from the Seattle vans store today. The staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable and made sure they I went away with the right equipment for my needs. On top of all that they made sure that I got the best price on some trucks and wheels which made my day!! :)
