Story

Vince Lombardi came to America when he was 15 yrs. old from Satriano, Italy. By helping out at the family store in Satriano, he gained valuable experience in the grocery business. As soon as a new life was established in America, Vince and his brothers started a family business in Syracuse, NY, importing items from many Mediterranean countries.

After 36 years, in keeping with tradition to pass on knowledge to the next generation, Vince once again opened a new family business with his son-in-law, Sam Mondello, Jr. Sam had a sales and business background along with the knack for incorporating technology to automate things. Combined with Vince's knowledge and experience, Vince's Gourmet Imports was opened. And many people were introduced to quality imported foods in their North Syracuse store.

As customers enter the store, they are greeted with wonderful aromas, a clean open feel, and friendly faces. In addition to the deli, oils, candy, fresh pasta, sauces, cookies, crackers, imported dishes, espresso makers, aprons, and thousands of other items, there is a full line of prepared meals ready to take and bake. Sam says, "Many people like to eat good food but don't have time to make it themselves. Our meals could pass as your own. We aim to introduce hot meals that will make entertaining even easier a frequent customer request."

Vince states, Many of our customers are like part of the family. We strive to keep them satisfied and hope that they'll enjoy exploring the many gourmet items for many years. It's our customers that create a successful business and we value each and every one.
