Terry and crew have been wonderful to us! We randomly found them when our car broke down and towing delivered us down the street to them during the summer. Terry worked with us to repair the car over a few weeks so that we could gather the resources for the repairs. Last week, we asked him to take care of one needed repair that had previously been postponed and several maintenance issues that I knew needed to be done ... he got all of it done in a few days - really took the time to make sure it was done right and gave us a loner car so that we could have the car in the shop that long. He goes over everything needed so that we understand the problems and solutions ... in other words, he has never acted as though women are not smart enough to understand or can be 'tricked' into doing unnecessary repairs. He indicates what he sees as priorities, what would be good but optional and what can wait. Virginia Automotive in Glen Allen is now our go to shop even though it is on the other side of RVA from where we live ... because honesty, respect and appreciation are important to our family. We value ethical behavior in our relationships ... business and otherwise. I would recommend Terry and crew to anybody looking for good quality auto service. We will continue to do business with Terry after we get a second car as well!  ---Donna S.

I only take my car to this place. They are very nice and honest. I haven't had any problems with them. The awesome customer service, location & the fact that they do not pressure you to buy additional services will keep me coming back. I recommend them all the time to people I know.

If you fail inspection, doesn’t matter how big or small the repair is, repair costs will be insanely overpriced. Then  when they know you can’t afford the repair price they try to talking you into a credit card, I mean HUSTLE you into a credit card. I didn’t get a credit card nor did I get my repairs done there, got my repairs done elsewhere ALOT CHEAPER. I came back for a reinspection just for it to be rejected again for one of the things I had fixed. Take your business elsewhere,  the only way they’ll pass you is if the repair is done in their shop . Sad to see mechanic shops still try to finesse first time car owners.

I had steam coming out of my hood, no heat, knocking noises, squeaking, the engine was riding rough, and coolant was leaking, so I knew I had problems.  I suspected a water pump failure, and decided to call around to a few shops for a quote.  The Lexus dealer threw out the highest bid, and the other two shops were close but VAS was the best price.  On top of that, they work with the Costco Auto program which saves 15% on parts and service.  They use NAPA parts which are high quality and well priced... good value.  Through NAPA they also give you a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on their work which is the best I've ever gotten from any shop.

I got the car back in a day and it was running smooth and quietly purring like a brand new engine.  The temperature gauge was actually slightly under the halfway point which I had never seen before, perhaps the effects of a new water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and coolant flush.  So far, I'm very pleased with the work and the value of VAS, and I'll likely return for future repairs.  Chris and Terry were very helpful and nice.  I read on their website that Terry is a deacon at his church so I hoped they'd be honest folks.  Everyone's goal is to find an honest and competent mechanic, and I think I've found mine.  Thanks, guys!
