Story

Virginia Premier Health Plan is contracted with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services to provide health care services to the recipients of the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) and Medicaid's Low-Income Families with Children, and Aged, Blind and Disabled residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Virginia Premier was formed for the sole purpose of effectively coordinating health care for low-income persons. Owned by the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Virginia Premier currently services over 190,000 members.

Virginia Premier operates across in over eighty counties in Virginia. The Corporate office is located in Richmond, Virginia, with other satellite offices located in Bristol, Roanoke and Virginia Beach.

This is one of the worst Companies for "Medicare Advantage". Poor "Customer Service", Pharmacy Staff Rep's didn't even know what a "Ostomy" was. I was told that in order to opt out of the "Medicare Advantage" Coverage I could not "Fax" or "Email" my "Stop Coverage" request. I was told I had to mail it. I mailed my "Stop Coverage " request to the Supervisor that the "Customer Service Rep" told me to with the address provided by her "Attention" to this supervisor via "Certified Mail". I did this so that I could have a way to track the letter. It was mailed 01-17-2017 and is still waiting to be pick up by Virginia Premier" at the PO Box Address that was provided. I had no out of pocket costs for my "Durable Supplies" before I enrolled with VA Premier. I would incur 20% out of pocket costs with VA Premier, number don't lie. This is one of the worst Companies for "Medicare Advantage" . Poor "Customer Service", Pharmacy Staff Rep's didn't even know what a "Ostomy" was. I hope they send someone to pick up my "Stop Coverage" letter. BTW, this company list Doctors on their website, but when you call to the Doctor's office, they either not working at that location or not in VA Premier Network. Do Not Enroll with Virginia Premier, you will be sorry.

WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. There not understanding at all very rude!!!! I called on a Monday with no luck after 5 calls and waiting each some a bit less some over 10 mins Mind you with 7 month old it isn’t easy waiting with a young child so I called back on Tuesday bright and early to explain and apologize on there by half on not picking up the phone. And tryied to schedule a very important doctors Appointment for Thursday and I get denied! I made a very polite complaint to I believe was a manager Brian and he made it sound like I was lying and said “come on now you waited that long there’s no way “ I couldn’t believe what I was hearing!! I’m complete shock I’ve been a Christian for over 2 years now and I’m not the one to lie and God knows that! So hurt and Disgusted. I’ll be praying for better workers and more understanding people

I would give a minus 0 if I could. They are not paying insurance claims for transporting dialysis patients. They owe several transportation companies for 2 months or more worth of claims.

Finally got my I'D card after 2 weeks. Called for I'D number, long hold times, disconnected x2. Was told one I'D number, card came with another. Neither number seems valid. Web site is down. I took a chance with this Medic are plan and am beginni ng to rue that decision.

Have been waiting for almost 2 months for authorization for my moms personal and respite care at home after VA Premier wouldn't cover her in the rehabilitation and nursing home past 2 weeks and me having to fight thru appeal saying she wasn't ready and things weren't set up which I lost after 2 surgeries, a new feeding tube, a new dialysis emergency entry in her chest . Suggesting that she could get care at home but we are still waiting on care. wish I could give it a negative 100
