My Optometrist explained to me that I was going to go blind from glaucoma unless I sought help. He also noted I had terrible cataracts that needed to be removed. This was all a big surprise to me and caught me off guard; all I wanted was a new prescription for eye glasses. One thing I can do is research and so I lit up the internet spending many hours trying to find the right doctor and practice. I found it doesn't help if the doctor is top rated however belongs to a practice that doesn't have the latest cutting edge vision equipment, I mean the machines and diagnostic hardware and software and the trained technicians. I ended my search and the doctor I wanted to operate on my eyes was Dr Connie Okeke, based on her training and record. But here is the deal; you can have the best doctor- Okeke and have a top notch practice; Virginia Eye Consultants. There is one slight problem, one I and many overlook to have the twin advantages of best doctor and state of the art practice. On your first visit, and every subsequent visit, there is a method moving patients around several stations (I think 4) with each having a waiting area. It’s the enviable process for a high volume practice. HOWEVER, when you deal with the Surgery Center upstairs (they handle the eye surgery) everything is streamlined and it’s like you’re the only patient on site. I actually enjoyed going in the Surgery Center for my 2nd eye surgery because of the manner they cared for me. Now its 3 months later, the cataracts are gone, the glaucoma is arrested and my vision is wonderful. If you want a great glaucoma doctor, you can’t do better than Connie Okeke. And while Virginia Eye Consultants can be a Zoo due to the volume….they grow on you and there is a reason they have a volume. I would do it all over again, I highly recommend Dr. Connie Okeke and Virginia Eye Consultants.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. GREAT CREDENTIALS. DR. OKEKE WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY MY SON JAMES LYNCH A NAVY OPTOMETRIST. SHE HAS GREAT CREDENTIALS AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE TREATMENT OF GLAUCOMA. SHE HAS A REALLY NICE WAY IN COMMUNICATING WITH HER PATIENTS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS OF MY GLAUCOMA/CATARAC SURGERY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER

I was referred to Dr. Okeke by my Optometrist because of my elevated eye pressure. I was evaluated by Dr. Okeke and discovered that I had glaucoma and early stages of cataract. I have been a patient of Dr. Okeke for over two years now and I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing less than superb. I would gladly recommend Dr. Okeke to anyone who has glaucoma or cataract issues.
