Full Service RV Park and Marina for RV vacationing. Some Tent sites available. Boat Ramp and Kayak / Paddle board rentals available. Camp store with grill open all year round.
Locally owned by Jason & Sharema Thorne. Fun, family oriented vacation retreat.

Wonderful friendly and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyable, laid back with more amenities than expected. Food was great, management and staff couldn't be more accommodating. We will certainly return any time we are in the region. "An absolute jewel" 👍👍👍

Beautiful Lake Wateree! This place is beautiful, a quiet country setting, with a view of the beautiful lake, the campground has two sections, one side for long term camping; wich is quaint and quiet! The other side for weekend or week/month long camping; a little more lively bunch, young or old there is enjoyment to be found at Lake Wateree R.V. and campground! Located in beautiful Liberty Hill, South Carolina

This has got to be the most horrible place I've ever stayed at. One of the owners took pride in the degrading, unprofessional rude way in which the guest and workers were treated. If your a long-term guest, I encourage you to track your electric meter and charges from month to month. The bathhouse is disgusting, moldy showers, dripping fixtures. The roaches I saw in the grill area & bathhouse were numerous. But I must say the lack of consistency on the part of one owner, The outright demoralizing approach has me wondering if the campground will end up closing within the next year. This person takes pride in yelling at employees in public, for something they didn't even do. Also boasts about the way she treats customers, on the phone or face to face, rudely and with no respect. I wouldn't recommend this place to the most destitute person. It's a shame the other owner just sits back and allows this treatment to continue. Drive the extra 30, 50, 70 miles to a reputable establishment.

If I could rate a zero I would! We camped here this weekend in a 24ft camper. The 1st spot we were given was not waterfront so my mother in law requested a place closer to the water. The OWNER (Cherie Mathorton)recommended site 29. We spent 2 hours trying to level the RV on this recommended site, only to have to move to a different site. We moved to site 6, which was CLOSER TO THE WATER. Set up was PERFECT! Later, the owner, Cherie, brought her nice fancy boat and parked it in the grassy median directly in front of our campsite. When we tried to leave this morning, my father in law had to cut sharper on his pull out to avoid hitting the boat. This resulted in the camper scraping against the top of the trees leaving damage to the camper. I called the owner about this and she very rudely told me that the median was available parking for anyone on the campground and there was nothing they could do. So, 2 nights of horrible camping costed us $90!!! However, the 2 guys that run the store are very pleasant! Too bad they don't own the campground!! After 10 years of camping here, you couldn't pay me to go back. Wateree State Park or Suttons Landing it is!

There is only a 1 lane dirt road in and out of this place and the entrance that GPS (Garmin) takes you to is fenced and locked. We had to find a way to turn our 24 foot camper around on a small gravel road to go back to the 1 lane dirt road to enter the park. Additionally, the owner (Cherie Thorton)is very rude and disrespectful. She was reprimanding park employees in the open for everyone to see. She is uneducated on the layout of her own park. We spent 2 hours trying to set up camp on a site that she recommended, only to have to move becaise there was no way to ger the camper level. They park their personal boat in the median, which she stated is parking but the camp map clearly shows that its not. There is absolutely no cellphone signal if you have Verizon and no option for Wi-Fi. Be careful if.you ise their restrooms, the toilet seats have very little paint on them. The sites are over charged ($45/night!!) I wouldnt recommend this place to a homeless person!
