We had a gorgeous 2 bedroom suite on Melody Hill (Evergreen section).  It was luxurious. The kitchen was humongous and had more than ample wrap-around counter space, as well as an on-site washer/dryer. The only thing that could be improved is the mattress on the pull-out couch; I was told it was not very comfortable.  The Canyon Grill was good, but I found dinner to be pricey.  The concierge service was great - anything we asked for we got quickly. The pools, rec centres and fitness room were clean and beautiful.  The grounds were lovely and the view was stunning.  I was very very pleased with every aspect of our experience!

I have stayed at the Welk San Diego serveral times. The particular stay was just for a weekend. Everything met, or exceeded, expectation this visit. The room is comfortable, spacious, and cozy. The only thing keeping me from providing a 5 star is the check out time being at 10 am. While not necessarily early, nearly every other place I have traveled and stayed the check out time is usually 11 or even 12 at times.

Great place to stay. Excellent service and rooms are phenomenal. The golf greens surround the entire resort and the "small town" provides every kind of service you may need. Highly recommend this resort for guests and will be here again soon.

We had a free weekend getaway package but had to attend the timeshare presentation. Our room was an older room built specifically for the physically disabled. We asked if it was possible to switch rooms since everything was really low, but there were no other rooms available. Otherwise, the resort is really secluded and makes for a nice getaway. The pools are nice and the views are fantastic. We also went to dinner at the restaurant on site and the food was excellent. However, they were understaffed for a Friday. The time share presentation was standard but really not a good deal. You can get a night on Priceline for much cheaper, with no strings attached. Just do the math.

Great family vacation experience! Lots of options and events to keep kids entertained. There is hardly a need to leave the resort. However, I would not recommend for anyone traveling without children. This is a resort and not a hotel. It's missing the normal hotel level of attention and service. The rooms are spacious, much larger than a typical hotel room but it's missing things like room service.
