Tuscany Hills Retreat has been part of the community since the early 80's. Established in 1982, Tuscany Hills Retreat has been taking care guests who wanted to get away from the city and enjoy nature. Just a few miles away from Daley Ranch nature reserves as well as many other hiking trails, Tuscany Hills offers a comfortable stay minutes from lots of fun.

This place is beautiful! It has a really laid back feel, and it's so relaxing. It's a bit away from Escondido's downtown, but that was part of its charm and appeal. The pine trees that surround the property are massive! They cut a few down and use the wood for stepping stones and garden pavers, it's brilliant! There's a ladder pond, a pond then a stream or waterfall, then another pond! It's so relaxing and zen. I like to sit there in the evenings and unwind from the day. They also have a similar set of hot tubs, I forget what they call them but they're down at the moment so I haven't enjoyed them yet. If I do I'll edit my review to include them. The staff are extremely friendly and nice, and the rooms are great. They are a little outdated, but I like that. It feels like I'm staying at a friend's rather than a hotel. The rooms all have balconies attached, the one I'm staying in has an open view of a villa and a golf course, but there's a bit of distance between the two so there's no noise, and it doesn't diminish from the view. There's a sauna too, but I haven't been in there. It's not really my thing. They also offer massages, too.

Cute but Quirky
The scenery and layout of the resort, as well as the pool and cascading hot tubs are definitely worth 5 stars.  The beds were more comfortable than some of the 5 star resorts in Vegas or some high end chain hotels.
I love the old school feel of actual keys for the lock.  The showers and toilet worked very well and the water was hot.  The water closet actually had a fan, which is a necessity for me.
The reason for the 3 star review is due to some of the quirks.  The WiFi didn't work at all, and neither did the tube television. The linens and fixtures were clean and bright, but the floors turned our feet black.  
Security was a bit light at the doors.  Modern hotel doors have dead bolts; our door had a chain. 
What also knocked it down a star was when the smell of marijuana came through the bathroom vents.  It was after 10 pm, so the front office was closed.  I called the front office to leave a message, but since it wasn't necessarily an emergency, I didn't call the emergency number.  The smell dissipated after a time, but the point is someone in another room knew the front office was closed and took advantage of it.
There are some awesome reasons for staying here, and with a little remodeling to technology, security, and cleaning this place would be a dream.

Too these pictures as my husband and I were walking out so that's our mess. The staff was amazing the receptionist waited till me and my husband arrived. The room was absolutely beautiful water was warm, floor was clean, amazing view. Tv worked as well as cable. Room got a little cold but there's extra blankets in the closet assuming it was for the pull out couch. Lots of storage for your stuff. Didn't get to use the pools or anything because we literally just stayed over night but they looked beautiful.

Room was nice,clean. Staff was very friendly. Pool and soaking pools were very nice. The real appeal to this place is how pretty everything is,so many guests going around posing for photos.

Noisiest hotel of my life. You can clearly hear anyone in any room around you. It’s like there is no insulation in this building AT ALL we had to move our room twice because of party goers just being extremely loud. We definitely weren’t being over sensitive when we went to the front desk because of the drunks yelling and slamming furniture next door. We ended up in a lot more quite room thankfully we could only hear the room above us running around like thunder all morning since 6am... so screw sleeping in when you have Thor above you running errands back and fourth in their room... I guess it’s better than drunks fighting?? good lord these walls are thin.. also don’t be alarmed if when you go into your room there are already tenants staying in there aka ants and spiders... I hope you enjoy the tickle of ants over your toes while you pee!!! this place definitely has a bug problem... also tried to enjoy sometime in the spas but not ten mins into my nice evening soak did a group of teenagers who obviously were not staying at the hotel came and crashed the spa drinking and smoking I went from being alone at the spa to being the only one not at the party when the group of 6 VERY trashy teens came down... no security in sight just get your evening ruined by a bunch of punk teens... so don’t even get your hopes up for quiet time in the spa here.... if you looking for a great quiet retreat to sit and enjoy a nice room and a great soaking spa, go somewhere else I got terrible sleep and I didn’t enjoy literally any of their amenities because of lack of security and total lack of regulating the property to make it enjoyable for others.... will never come back here again I spent 200 dollars for ONE NIGHT on my stay wow.... I am SO disappointed the only nice thing was the girl at the front desk who felt really bad about how noisy the party people were being but couldnt actually address the noise probably because of lack of security and just moved us but she was really nice and super helpful... hopefully the front desk will give us some kind of discount because that price for no sleep and no peace at the spas like what the hell did I pay for? I’m very frustrated with my stay very over priced and very very under regulated...

Update: after having told the front desk lady about the issues when I was going to check out she has continued to be super nice and accommodating she asked if we would like to stay another night just Incase last night was a fluke and has addressed the security issue I really hope tonight goes better because this place is so beautiful I’d like to enjoy it! I am very appreciative for the extra customer service she provided my husband and I.
