Please note: WellPath is the SAME as COVENTRY HEALTHCARE OF THE CAROLINAS, and that is who I am reviewing.

Boy, I am steaming mad.  I signed up for an HSA compatible insurance program with this company, and I cannot WAIT to be eligible for health insurance through my husband's job so I can ditch these clowns. This company is a bad JOKE.  

1. I signed up online, waited for the welcome packet to arrive that would explain my benefits in full, etc. Never came.  A bill came though, within a couple weeks, demanding payment. I called and asked about the usual welcome packet.  "Oh you'll get that in a couple weeks." Never got it.  But I got my card, so I guess I should be thankful. 
 
2.  I start getting letters from some company called Health Equity demanding that I provide them with a copy of my social security card, my gov't id, etc, and I'm thinking, "This must be a scam--I don't know who these folks are, and I'm certainly not giving them my SS#."  They're saying that I need to provide this because of my HSA and the Patriot Act.  I opened an HSA account with my bank, but how would THEY know that? Call my bank, they say don't you dare send this info to them, and please bring the letter to us.  Out of curiosity I call Health Equity, and they say Coventry gave them my info and to contact Coventry to find out more information.  So I call Coventry, who tell me that Health Equity needs to "administer" my HSA account for me.  I said absolutely not--it's my account, and I'll administer it as I please.  Then, a second rep came on and told me that when I signed up for an HSA compatible account, they AUTOMATICALLY OPENED AN HSA IN MY NAME, and now I'll need to close it.  So I'm furious now, but I say okay, I'll close it...let's go to number three.

3.  She tries to pull my information, and finds me, finds my address...but the social security number for me is TOTALLY WRONG, and she can't figure out why.  Says they'll need to get back to me.

Are you kidding me?!? Someone else's social is in my account?!? Where's MY SOCIAL, then?? She said it must have been an error on Coventry's part.  

Lord save me from these incompetent people.  In the meantime, folks, spend the extra money and go with Blue Shield.  Which is so sad.  NC needs more insurance companies.
