Breakfast rules here! Anything you get with the months featured fruit is going to be amazing, and the biscuits and gravy are on point. The old market location makes it extra adorable, especially if it's a Saturday and you can pop over to the farmers market after. Oh, and the cinnamon rolls. Good lord. So good.

Long story short: This place is a train-wreck, don’t waste your time and money! The foods not that good anyway—(we’re locals). My wife, 3 year old, and I were downtown for a kids play at the Rose theatre and decided to stop here for breakfast at 10:30 AM. The hostess conveyed it was going to be about a 25 minute wait. Being a Sunday morning, no big deal—we decided to wait. We were taken to our table and were all settled in by just after 11. Drink order was a latte, waters and an OJ for my daughter. No good morning, no thanks for being patient, just “what can I get you to drink?” Okay, I get it server is not real outgoing. Drinks come back in 5 minuets, we’re ready to order. My wife orders an omelette, I order one of the “specials” for the day, and we order 1 scrambled egg and 2 pcs of bacon for the little one. Here’s where it all starts to unravel... After 30 minuets—it’s now 11:35— the server comes back and says, without apology, “the kitchen just told me we’re out of croissants [the special]”. I agreed to just eat it however they wanted to serve it but asked, “could you at least bring her [my 3 year old]’s food out?”. She said “sure” and walked away. 11:45 rolls around and I’m really starting to feel like I’m gonna loose my cool. Expo brings my daughter’s food—keep in mind it’s been 45 min since we sat down. She’s starting to get cranky and we decided (not knowing how much longer our food is going to be—since we were NOT ONCE updated on our food) it’s time to go. So I asked the server to cancel our food and bring the check. Apparently, the kitchen never got the message because as we were putting our coats on at NOON the expo was headed our way to drop off our food. I told I’m we’d asked to cancel the order and he proceeded to tell me “your food was put in 21 minuets ago”, which was not only the wrong thing to say to a customer that you’ve ignored for the better part of the last hour, but also clued me in to the fact that the server waited 25 minuets to put our order in. On our way out the sever had the gaul to drop a ticket on our table literally not saying a single word, turned around and walked away. I grabbed a $20 bill out of my wallet and then had to hunt someone down to try and make change....that obviously wasn’t happening. So I left my $20 and that’s the last of my money that Wheatfields will ever get.

This play seems to be very popular. I've only been here about 3 times and each time it has been very crowded with a brief wait for a table. The food is good. There is a lot of variety so you will be able to find something to your liking. They cover all the basics from breakfast to lunch. Staff is friendly and does their best to keep things rolling. Service is prompt. No complaints. The restaurant is complemented with a bakery. You can purchase various baked goods for home if you desire. Mostly comfort food. Items looked good. I can't speak to their taste although the products looked good. Restaurant is clean. The bathrooms are also well attended. They have several locations in the city of Omaha. All have been busy when I have gone on weekends. Expect a wait as you compete for a table with the church crowd. Best times to go seem to be during the week at off hour times (duh).
