laurie scheinman, veteran family therapist, redefines the meaning of “retail therapy” with her fresh new concept shop she aptly names, wit & whim. the cleverly edited collection is housed in a recently restored, 1885 hallmark home along the waterfront town of port washington, ny. it is a whimsical place to stop, shop and play.

wit & whim is a treasure house filled with curiosities for people of all ages. scheinman’s eclectic style mixes vintage, contemporary, americana and global. one added twist…wit & whim is committed to creating ever-changing limited-edition collaborations where art + goods = fun raising profits from these creative collections will go directly to organizations that benefit individuals, communities and our world. it’s a way to gift and give back!

“i’ve spent my career connecting with people,” says scheinman. “wit & whim takes that connection to a new level—one that is visual, tactile and hopefully fun. my goal is to create a home setting with a relaxed atmosphere where shoppers can treat themselves, and others, to an international selection of art, design, craft and fashion.”
