The staff there aren't great. There were only about 3 nurses that were actually nice and I was told by one of the doctors "your in a psychiatric hospital no one will believe you anyway" and even being out interacting with people and constantly smiling and laughing (from the other patients) I had to stay longer because "I still have a dark cloud over my head" and I was automatically labeled a "detoxing alcoholic" because I had drank ONE NIGHT 2 days before I even went there. Had to go to AA classes and everything. I honestly and truly came out much more depressed then when I went in.. I wouldn't send anyone there. Even bad people don't deserve to go there. If I could've rated 0 stars I would!

Dr.Brahmbhatt is bipolar and manic. He is also on drugs. He has been seen spilling his Valium on the floor. He called me names for two days in a row, then he accused me of bringing contraband medications into poplar Ward and sharing them with my "new found friends". I was never in his office for more than a minute. My blood pressure always went up every time I seen him. His medical students would be seen crying after their morning staff meeting. He is a seventy year old prick who prescribes way too much medicine, and he prescribes the exact same meds, just different doses to all his lab rats. That dot on his head makes you want to punch it. He would bring in family members to show them how much power and influence he has over everyone in the building. I question his sanity and drug use and his ability to run his day to day ability to function as a Dr. He is a bad person who needs to retire as soon as possible, before he over medicates someone and they die because of his mental capacity, and inability to learn new medicines and techniques. Please retire before you kill someone you worthless dothead!

I have a loved one there. When I call, they are very nice. I really like her doctor. He seems to genuinely care and wants to do all he can to get her the medical treatment she needs. Her therapist is also concerned and wants to do all he can to help her. I truly feel in my heart that God placed her here. Especially compared to the other places we have dealt with in the past. Thanks Woodridge for the respect, care and professionalism that all places should strive to have.

I had a terrible experience at Woodridge. Came out feeling more depressed and anxious than before I went there. They treat you like criminals regardless of the reason for you being there. I would not wish this place on my worst enemy. It seemed to me that all the doctors care about was slapping some label on you and over medicating you. They told me I was ADD, bipolar, and manic depressive...? That seems excessive to me. I am not any of those. I may have depression but so does 80% of people you meet. They act like since you are depressed, their big solution is heavily medicating you. They strip search you (how humiliating) regardless of your history with self harm ( I have never self harmed yet I still had to bend and cough). I had a couple of good nurses that actually cared but for the most part I wanted to get the heck out of there. If you are having trouble with mental issues, I would strongly recommend seeking some other form of professional help. I will never go back there, and I would never want anyone I know to have to experience what I did. 7 years later, I am a completely normally functioning adult, and Woodridge is not the reason
