Story

This page is unofficial. This page is not run by Wyandotte County Lake Park. I'm just a fan of the park and post pictures and info that might be helpful and interesting. This park consists of 1500 acres, 400 acre lake for fishing and boating and 16 shelters, all have with water, electricity, playground equipment and restrooms.

The James P. Davis Hall will accommodate 150 people for parties, meeting and receptions. A large playground area and rental boats are available for the public. Also, pontoon docks available for annual rental and includes a horse riding trail.

Odd number shelters are on the east side of the lake and even number shelters are on the west side.

One of my favorite places to go hiking. Miles of trails both paved and unpaved. Beautiful scenery. Tranquil and Serene Lake. Great place to have family reunions or bring kids. There is an abundance of activities and shelter areas as well. Three large playgrounds all with unique playground equipment! Overall just a very nice place.

Great looking body of water, huge damn n spillway.... surrounded by rolling hills and thick forest.... shelters with built in grills and electric... Veteran memorial and really nice play park for kids n equestrian riding trails too!

The picnic areas are maintained with plenty of charcoal grills available. Unfortunatly the Bridle Trail is not well maintained. Overgrowth causes you to constantly dodge and push foliage out of the way and poor drainage make for a sloppy mess. Too messy to walk, to overgrown for horse riding. I hope it improves.

Wyandotte County Lake Park is a great place for families to go to in the summer time. There is shelter houses to have picnics at, with swings for the kids. And the lake is great for boating and fishing. Denny, who works at the boathouse, is very nice. He has been working there since I was a little kid. When my parents, brothers and I lived on 72nd street, back in the 1970's, we went out to Wyandotte County Lake Park. My parents had small sailboat's that we would do sailing in at Wyandotte County Lake.

This is a great resource for Wyandotte County. Great fishing and nice shelters for large events. Nice hall and patio for weddings. Must have wyco lake fishing license and boat permit to fish/boat. Need orange flag for swimming off of boats. Beautiful horse/hiking trails! Archery range and dog park.
