Best Chinese food in the Tampa Sarasota area. We are from the New York City area and this easily beats many places there. Make a reservation, but keep in mind they don't take same day. If you don't have one get there early. It is popular. Salt and pepper calamari, dumplings (any), orange chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice dishes, and many other great dishes.

This place is often packed with customers, and I've seen great reviews. I've eaten here twice and was not impressed. Maybe it's their style of Chinese cuisine but I'm not a fan. Others seem to love it. Service was good but I've found other Chinese restaurants that are far better.

Fabulously authentic. Dim sum is phenomenal. Many many excellent choices with a vast menu.

We ordered the beef chow fun, salt fish and eggplant hot pot, and house fried rice. Everything was excellent, but the fried rice was the best I've ever had, by virtue of it being the least sodden with oil and soy sauce. Next time well have the amazing looking dim sum... edit - something I neglected to mention in the earlier review was that we ordered a Chinese salted fish dish, and the server warned us that we wouldn't be able to get a refund if we didn't like it - to me, that screams authenticity! They actually DO have food that an American might not love, which I think is fantastic! And for the record, I thought the salted fish dish (whatever it was), was delicious!

Yummy House has the best Chinese food on the North side of Sarasota. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced. They have an enormous menu, and everything is made to order. They can get very busy at lunchtime, but I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for a table, even during tourist season. One quirk that some may find annoying: they deliver meals to the tables as soon as they come out of the kitchen. This means that you may get your food 5 or 10 minutes before your dining companions. Another quirk: No hot mustard for the egg rolls. A waiter here once emphatically told me "hot mustard is not Chinese!")
