After telling them the size of our home and a good overview of what was in it; they recommended  units that were much too insufficient for our stuff.  Also, they didn't deliver our units timely causing me to waste money on movers sitting around doing nothing.   Had to reschedule them.   I would go with Pod next time.

They were very eager to deliver the empty container earlier than requested, but when I called for pick up on the loaded container for a move, it was scheduled for 18 days later. Now they are going to charge me another monthly storage fee and not prorate any of the money back if they pick it up early! I let them know this was not my expectation, they looked into my account and called me a few days later. They apologized that I was not satisfied and have put me on a no charge status for the whole month of May.  Now that is a company who stands behind their service! Way to go 1-800-PACK-RAT! I will use you again and recommend you to friends and family!

Best long distance moving experience! I moved from NJ to TX. I had no issues whatsoever with this company. Everything is clearly outlined for you and you only have an issue if you're either entitled and obnoxious or not paying attention. They delivered my unit when promised (I happily paid the extra $50 for a guaranteed delivery window). They picked it back up on the day they said they would, shipped it when I asked and it even arrived at my destination 4 days earlier than it was scheduled to. I'm doing a self empty so there is no redelivery but I'm confident it will be available when I've scheduled it to be. I don't plan on moving long distance again but if my situation allows for it, I'll certainly consider them in the future. These one star reviews are completely situational from folks who very clearly didn't understand or didn't bother to actually listen to the terms of service.

The driver I had who dropped and picked up my container, Larry, was very kind and worked with me to get placement right. I was called the night prior to pickup by Phillip, who asked if early morning was OK. - This enabled me to plan the rest of my next day without wondering when my pickup would be. Larry was right on time.

I have used Pack Rat for years and they mostly did a good job, However, there accounting department reissued already paid invoices to me saying that they had not been paid. I had to spend 4 hours, several days and multiple emails to get them to finally agree that they had in fact made the errors.They wasted 4 hours or more of my time. Time that I had to take away from my company. So I sent them a bill for my time. My CPA charges me $65.00 an hour. So that's what I have charged them.  They don't want to pay me, but they certainly want to be paid by me.
This is an unfortunate circumstance that they are willing to lose a customer that has paid them over $4,000.00 last year over $260.00 (plus tax).
There are other options out there. Please explore them. Don't use this company.
