Stopped in on Saturday morning and had a great burger. The place was already pretty full at 11:30am. I didn't have a typical Lucy, I got a double cheese and while I have had better in MN, this was still a really good burger.

The fries seemed pretty typical - frozen and then fried. I might be wrong about them being frozen and then deep fried.

Our service was okay. I noticed another reviewer say that it took awhile for a server to come to their table initially and I totally agree. Service after our initial order was taken was very fast. We got our food and second round of beers in no time at all. 

We would stop in again.

Went there after the gopher game.  Hard to remember but don't think I have been there since about 1969 when I lived nearby and we used to go often.  Juicy Lucy was everything I remember.  I have had many wannabes but the juicy at the 5-8 is the best.  Place was packed sat at the bar.  Service was great.  My daughter lives nearby now so I will be back more often.

Good, straight up bar food. Find frills someplace else and enjoy a burger. Got the Juicy Lucy with blue cheese...and a pickle slice. Good beef flavor and plenty of blue cheese...and that's how it comes from the kitchen. Had the steak fries (aka Jojos) cold beer (good pour) and that's it.
Like I said, no frills. Add frills and maybe 5-8 would earn two more stars. Your call.

The food was awesome!  The server we had was beyond belief. Excellent! Top Drawer! Would definitely drive an hour to eat there.

I've had good and bad experiences at 5-8. Their Juicy Lucys are ok and overall I like the variety on their menu. The service can be hit or miss. I'd recommend every once in a while.
