I booked 18 months ago a for a pre-season family trip. Due to an extreme situation, I had to cancel. I spoke with Dan and shared the very personal and sad news. I was told that a credit would be given and to call to re-book. Over the next 18 months, I tried to return to the Island and to use the credit. I booked and re-booked several times, re-telling my story and trying to use my credit . Finally, the Columbus Day weekend came up as an option. I re-booked my flights and called the hotel again. I was told that my credit would cover the rooms and that I was "all set". I called several times in September to confirm, receiving the same answer. When I arrived, I was told that I had a $500 balance! I asked to speak to a manager. Over the next three days, I was emailed and stopped to "settle" my bill. I asked every time to speak to the now manager, Ryan. Being stalked over a holiday weekend while paying for a tiny room where you couldn't enter the loo without bumping the bed! The hotel staff was average and the overall experience doesn't merit the high prices. After another round of hostile emails from Ryan, I met him at the front desk. He agreed that I had tried to re-book and I would only be charged $300! This was extortion. When I learned of our delayed flight, he seemed nonplussed and went about his business. I have stayed at #LarkHotels before. Will never do so again I found the stalking extremely offensive and the tone of the emails unprofessional. There are so many better options on the Island with true service and commitment to their guests. Look elsewhere. #Motel6 has a better customer experience. I even went on Twitter but it just doesn't to matter. Extortion was the order of the day. After four months, I finally spoke with someone from #LarkHotels. We exchanged voicemails and emails. No one wanted to acknowledge the poor treatment and last minute price hike. Against MA state law as well.

My family and I loved 76 Main. They had a big fire pit in a lounging area outside. The food was pretty good. They served bread, various cheeses, nuts, fruit, oatmeal and, sometimes even cinnamon rolls. They had great service. Dan, the general manager helped us rent a jeep and gave us towels and chairs to lay on the beach. The cleaning crew was spot on! The rooms were the best! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. And last, but not least, don't forget to sample the homemade chocolate chip sea salt cookies!

My husband and I stayed at 76 Main on Nantucket with our 21 month old daughter for three nights in July. We stayed in one of the larger rooms that are separated from the main hotel, with entrances from the back patio. I highly recommend these larger rooms for families. The hotel has a wonderful back patio, where people gather for breakfast, afternoon reading, and early evening cocktails. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured and the hotel is fresh and new, while maintaining the old charm of the historic building. Staff prepare a lovely breakfast every morning, and cookies are prepared throughout the day for guests to nibble on. They provide beach chairs and towels for use during the day at the beach--a huge benefit for those traveling light. The location of the hotel is excellent, only one block from the center of downtown. Finally, the staff were both friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

I booked the Vineyard Vines suite as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!! The decor is eclectic and modern, but embodies everything Nantucket. The front desk staff were all SO friendly and helpful. We showed up early to drop our bags and go exploring until our room was ready, but to our happy surprise, it was all ready and we were able to settle in right away. All of the dining recommendations we found on the complimentary loaner iPad were very helpful considering we came off season and needed to find places that were open. The staff even brought my boyfriend two freshly baked cookies with a candle in each one for his birthday! They were still warm and absolutely delicious, just like all of the food available in the hotel's cafe. Needless to say, the whole weekend we had a blast driving on the beach and eating amazing food...staying at 76 Main made it perfect!
