My wife and I stayed here summer 2015 for three nights and it was wonderful. Summer 2017 we returned and it was again fantastic except that in the intern they had updated their in-room thermostat controls to "motion sensor" units. 

Three nights in a row I went to sleep with the room temperature perfect and then woke up sweating in the middle of the night. When I sat up in bed, all of a sudden the air conditioning for sprang to life. 

I'm sorry but for over $800 a night I should be able to have the room set to whatever temperature I damn well please. 

I sent an email to the GM and he never got back to me so here is my review. Don't stay here if it's hot outside and feel free to call me anytime GM.

I am disappointed that The Wauwinet fell short of my expectations. I never write negative reviews but I feel very compelled to do so just to let other newlyweds know that it may not meet their expectations either. My husband and I stayed there this past September right after we were married. Granted, the weather was pretty bad as Hurricane Jose was headed up the coast. Cape Air didn't send my luggage with me on our flight so when we arrived at The Wauwinet I asked the front desk for a toothbrush (I didn't get my luggage until the following day). They said they didn't think they had any, but would check. They never got back to me. I also thought they may do something because we excitedly shared we were just married, but they barely congratulated us. Then, they woke us up at 8:00AM on the morning of our departure to clean the room even though checkout wasn't until 11:00AM. The icing on the cake was that weeks later, we learned my husband's sister actually called the hotel, arranged to pay for the stay as our wedding gift, and asked that there be a card and message surprising us with this....we were given no message. I was mortified when she reached out and asked if my credit card had been charged too and explained the gift. We hadn't thanked her yet. I've stayed at 5 star hotels across the U.S. and this was my worst experience at one. The lack of hospitality and service was surprising and disappointing. I would not recommend it to anyone. It's not worth the high price.

It was a rainy Saturday when we arrived for brunch at Topper's. However, our food didn't disappoint. Service was very prompt and friendly, and the food was marvellous. I'd definitely return on a day with better weather for another meal on the lawn instead.

We went to The for restaurant week and the food was amazing. The servings were good size and the staff was kind and attentive.

A gorgeous and secluded hotel from the action in town on Nantucket. The Wauwinet has exceptional views and facilities, and is a great place to escape - especially for couples.
