Story

The White Elephant, located alongside Nantucket's magnificent harbor, has been considered an island landmark since the 1920's. What began as an eclectic mix of cottages has evolved into a premier Nantucket hotel that offers an unexpected blend of island charm and sophisticated amenities that is perfect for Nantucket lodging. The hotel consists of 53 chic, light-filled guest rooms and suites, most with working fireplaces and harbor views, and 11 garden cottages. All guests enjoy full access to the Library, fitness room, business lounge, and harborside lawn.

Had dinner with friends here and loved the experience. The oysters were some of the best that I've had - very smooth with the salt balanced by the watermelon. Tuna poke and lobster mac and cheese were also delightful. We ended up getting a couple of things and sharing. The staff was extremely attentive. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed the service, but the live music from Sean Lee really set it apart (no, not the legendary Dallas Cowboys linebacker). We had a rollicking good time dancing and singing along, and he had a great list of requestable songs. The restaurant Brant Point Grill has lovely outdoor seating; it's great for group events. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Food was very good as well.

Greeted at the ferry by the first of a delightful cadre of staff, our two nights were early season and very rainy. However it was still a quick walk to town or the beach, and we were always offered an umbrella or ride in one of the many property vehicles. In the intervening hours there is a library stocked with books and board games, and we spent each morning here overlooking the water while drinking great coffee with croissants. The only thing that kept this from being a five star review is that when we came back mid day once for a nap by our private fire, our room along the main hall was very noisy with guests, staff and even some power tools. The massage at the spa was wonderful and our private porch was also appreciated. Recommended.

Lovely restaurant by the water with great food, but just be warned it is pricey!

I only visited the White Elephant for lunch at the bar, but I must say I was very pleased with my overall experience. We sat at the bar, drinks were great, bartender very accommodating and pleasent. Food was pretty good as well. Typical New England food, nothing fantastic but nothing was to dissapoint. Overall I would come back again.
