Tucked away underneath ABC Home, this place is a gem. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but open the door, order a Bloody Mary (THE best I've had, hands down. And that's saying something), and enjoy the ambiance. The menu prices are steep, but worth it. Get the fluke appetizer and ask for bread and olive oil (sometimes the servers don't bring it automatically). The turkey sandwich might not seem like much, but it is incredible, and easy to split with a friend. It brings along some tasty fries as well. I've been for brunch and dinner, and every time I have been there, it has been packed. I do not think you can make reservations, so make sure your whole party gets there at once. While you wait, keep an eye out for seats opening up at the bar. It's full service, and often much quicker than waiting for a table.

I guess we were just expecting more, or something different. When i booked the table i was picturing a nice atmosphere and a lot of care on the food. The place is actually very big, dozens of tables, loud and cold too. The food was very disappointing, dishes like a portobello sandwich or deli-like cookies+milk are, in my opinion, not appropriate even on a lunch menu, or they should be done in a very original/gastronomic way. Our waitress was nice but forgot to give us the menu or bring deserts. Overall a very disappointing experience.

The atmosphere is chic and friendly with food to match. The food is executed perfectly and you can't go wrong with any menu item. Great for sharing, just hope you can get in.

If impeccable service is for you, then Per Se fits the bill. At one point in the evening I counted 13 waitstaff buzzing around, each anxious to remove a place setting or glass just as you are finished. This place was packed on the Saturday night we dined there. Service was prompt and friendly. Food tasted fresh and wonderful! Will definitely go back on our next visit to NY.
