From Admitting to Day Surgery Nursing and Support Staff I had such a positive experience. Even though a very busy department every member of the team was professional,efficient,kind and supportive. I never felt rushed and everything was explained every step of the way. Thank you Dr. Lee and all the surgical team at the Vic. You are the best.

I stayed over night for day surgery last week, and wanted to thank all of my nurses very very much. I regret not asking for all of their names, but specifically want to thank Louie and all of the other nurses working the last Wednesday night/Thursday morning shift. It felt like I paged my nurses every 5 minutes to help me change my ice pack, get a new blanket or even walk me to the washroom, and they all helped me with ease, only seconds after me pushing the call button. On top of it being late at night, every need of mine, was met by my nurses, with a smile on their face, full of patience, and a genuine sense that they cared about helping me recover. I am so very grateful that my first surgery was a safe and carful experience, and honestly wish I could give all of my nurses a hug to thank them personally! Thank you all, it is much appreciated!!

I've been to VGH's urgent care in at least three different occasions. There is never less than and 6-8 hour wait. The place looks and feels dirty, even though they say they put patients in order of risk I've seen pregnant women with bleeding go after kids with that for all intents and purposes were running around like nothing was wrong. And after you pass the waiting room you still have to wait at least an hour for the doctor to come see you. One time I even overheard the nurses saying that they only had one doctor on duty for everyone. This time there were 7 people in the waiting room and nobody has been called into a room for almost 2 hours. There is no water unless you are willing to buy it from the vending machine and if you drive here you will need to pay for parking. If you can find a spot in front of the urgent care, that is. Last time we waited for 6 hours to be called into a room just to wait another hour or so for the doctor to see my wife. He then proceeds to talk to her the a solid 2 minutes, order an ultrasound that the hospital scheduled for over two weeks later and disappears into the night. I will never be coming here again. Not even dragged. I rather drive three times farther away from my house to go to Grace, HSC, or St. Boniface. Don't waste your time in this dump. I am from a third world country and this kind of service is deplorable even by our standards. Of all the reasons to love Canada this kind of pathetic  healthcare service is the one thing I hate.  EDIT 1: It took them 6:20 hours to get us out of the waiting are and into a room. After that, another hours and a half, give or take, for the doctor to come see us I had to go and complain that we were in the room for over an hour with no one even talking to us. We were told my wife needed an ultrasound but because it was 6 in the morning we had to wait until 8 when the techs would arrive. Comes 8 AM and nothing, comes 8:30 and still nothing so I go ask and it seems they will fit us when they have the time. Which means it could be at 11:30 AM or it could be never. We remain waiting. 12 hours and counting.  P. S. :This is ridiculous we are occupying a room that could go to someone else if they just did the ultrasound and passed it on to the doctor.

Very satisfied from my recent visit to the urgent care, the wait time was long however the staff were attentive in the wait room to everyone making sure needs were met! I was very nervous going to urgent care for my issue and the female practitioner kept me at ease the whole time and made sure I was comfortable as the procedure took place. She did an excellent job as-well as the nurse! Thank you guys!!!

So I went for Day surgery their 3 days ago and in which I needed to stay overnight, wow let me tell you the moment that I walked into that word I felt so comfortable, the nurses were truly the most caring people I’ve ever sat with, the ones taking me to the operating room were so friendly and talked with me about my cat which I loved, once I got out I was taken care of so fast, once my call button was hit the ladies and Gentleman were quick to respond to my needs. Even a nurse waited out in the rain for me while I was waiting to be picked up the next morning.  I’m so forever grateful for this hospital and the nursing staff, this was the best hospital experience I’ve ever had !!!!

I was brought in by emergency. I was put in a bed in triage immediately and nurses made sure my pain management was under control. The hospital was very clean. All members of staff were friendly and made sure all my needs were met and made sure I was comfortable for my 8 hour wait.

The wait was about 8 hours long. The waiting room was full. The triage nurses are really nice and do check up on you once and a while. I give my nurse Anne Marie a 5 star. She is very kind and compassionate. She is very professional and takes the time to make sure your Ok or feeling better. What blew me away is that she speaks French as well. It made it easier for me to explain what kind of pain I was having and my symptoms. The doctor was very professional and kind as well. I would definitely recommend if you don't mind waiting.

Worst experiences ever at this hospital! It’s basically a big walk in clinic! Doctors don’t care and are arrogant towards their patients. You wait hours on end for them to just treat you like garbage. If you can take the extra 15 min drive to st boniface do it! Don’t come here

All the staff was attentive from the moment I got there. Even with a long wait time, the triage nurses were making sure to reassess everyone. They made sure to get EKGs, bloodwork, and urinalysis going even before patients could be taken back so that there was less wait. Once I was taken back, the doctor was very careful about my allergies to many medications. Unlike with most Emergency or Urgent care departments, I actually felt like they believed me and cared about getting the answers. Dr. Hitchcock and the RN Leanne were just wonderful.

My nurse and the rest of the staff was great but the KITCHEN is terrible. They forgot SIX meals for dinner to recovering patients so all six of us went hungry with the exception of cookies and soup. The nurses called 5x, and paged the kitchen with no ansewer. Good nutrition is key to the healing process. According to the nurses it's not the first time that happened.
