We took our car to Advanced Automotive Repair and dealt with Kim on the phone and Jim in person. They both were a delight to deal with and we felt that we were in good hands immediately. Jim is the type of mechanic that everyone should know and use, he has a "Don't fix it if it isn't broken!" philosophy, much unlike your typical car dealer's service center. This saves you money and time and makes you want to bring your vehicle back to him for service. He explains things and makes sure you understand what he is explaining. He takes the time to make sure that you are happy with what he is going to do and then takes the time to make sure that you are still happy after he is done. I don't think that you will find a friendlier mechanic anywhere in the area! Not only is Jim, a car guy, he is a people person too. We are very happy with the service we receive from his organization.

Great place! Very knowledgeable owner/ mechanic, with more industry certifications than any other mechanic in the area. 

They offer the full spectrum of automotive repair services, as well as Maryland State Inspections (at one of the lowest prices in the area), they are also a Maryland Certified Emissions Repair Facility.

They take the extra steps necessary to do the job the correct way, without taking short cuts.

You can feel confident that the work they perform on your vehicle will be done properly, and at the highest standards of quality.

We have been using Advanced Automotive Repair for our cars for many years and have always been satisfied with the excellent service and reasonable prices.  Jim is skilled and knowledgeable and he doesn’t upsell unnecessary repairs.  The shop and waiting room are not  fancy but that’s okay because we appreciate the repair and maintenance costs being kept low.

Jim was very professional from the beginning. I felt so comfortable leaving my car for state inspection. I am new in the area. I will be taking my car for service from now on. I am glad there is a good reliable and honest mechanic shop in Frederick. Thanks....!
