I finally found a reputable mechanic! I was starting to grow weary of the industry after years of car maintenance, but found light at the end of the tunnel. There's a reason they have 5 stars. I needed to get a check-up before vacation and called this morning when they opened at 8. They were done by 10. They actually explained the importance of the services they recommended during the inspection rather than trying to sell it. I never thought I would be able to put 'trust' and 'mechanic' in the same sentence. Spikes proved me wrong.

These guys saved our necks, our sanity and our vacation! We started our vacation early Friday and had a 5 or so hour drive ahead of us so we left in the morning to beat traffic. We were 2 1/2 hours from home and 2 /1/2 hours from our vacation spot when our check engine light came on and our van started misfiring. We drove it as long as we could until it became clear we had to stop before we caused more damage and before we were unable to drive it. Being right in the middle of our drive, and in an area we'd never been before, we had no idea what to do and were a bit panicked. We'd thought about driving back home and taking our other car back (talk about a vacation killer!). My wife was in tears, my kids were upset. We looked up auto shops in the area and found Spike's Auto Care & Tire and saw the good reviews and had to take a chance. We got there around 2:30 and Danny, quickly understanding the gravity of our situation, was there to help us out. He diagnosed our issue, explained it to us so we could understand it and got the part we needed and replaced it. The guys test drove it to make sure our issues were fixed, and they got us back on the road within an hour or so. It was a terrible start to our vacation but thankfully Spike's gave us a much needed second chance to start it off right. Really nice guys, and unbelievable service.

Cannot express my relief to find good mechanics who are competent and a bunch of great guys.  Danny went out of his way for a first time customer like me and went above and beyond my expectations.   They're my mechanics from now on!

I can't say enough nice things about this shop.  They were patient with me, and though I may be the worst customer they ever had, they were always friendly when I came in.  They are honorable, trustworthy and are the only mechanic I have ever felt did exactly what they said they would.
