We had some engine trouble lights go on during our South Dakota vacation. Alamo sent a new car out to our hotel and swapped it out. They made it effortless. Thanks!

Predatory business practices.     We booked a minivan in February for a week in July starting the 12th in Rapid City South Dakota. Our rate was just under $600 for the week.    We flew out this week thru Chicago.  Storms shut down the airport and  we lost a day.   Alamo now said our rental was $3000 for the remainder of our trip since it was a "new" reservation.  Or we could get a small car for $1500.  This is predator behavior.   I offered to pay for the missed day like I was actually there and this was unacceptable to them.  I envisioned them wringing their hands greedily. 
We switched rental to Enterprise.  My goal is to make sure everyone I am networked with knows what their business practices are.  
They cost me ultimately 100's of dollars of additional expenses, heartburn  and grief.    Avoid them like they have the plague.
