We reserved a RAV4, was not there when we arrived.  We had the sheet showing our reservation. Young man offered us a truck! Luggage in the back of a truck?  Their mistake and they should have right, he claimed it was a similar vehicle and similar capacity, truck .... SUV, you decide. He could have given us a larger SUV which would have been fine, he said we would have to pay more. Needless to say it was a very poor experience.  We walked right down to Hertz and got exactly what we wanted.  We have used Alamo many times in the past but not again.

Scam alert: be extremely careful if they mention "credit card collision insurance" themselves and you don't buy their insurance. They WILL take advantage of it to surprise you with a 4-figure "damage" bill weeks later. They have NO lot agent. Remember to ask for clearance paperwork after returning and take pictures of the car before leaving. BBB shows they have a constant pattern of scamming people like this. Very dishonest.

when returning the car i dropped off the keys 30 min earlier, the Alamo representative was there and told me that i'm good to go. the next day i was charged for a late drop off, i had to call customer service and explain the issue to get my money back. i also had reserved a midsize car such as Elantra but was given a Kia Soul (a box on wheels which didn't brake properly!) i think all they have is Souls no matter whether you request a small or mid size car, so don't be fooled.
