Experiance Black Hills fine dining at it's best!

Story

The staff of the Harney Peak Hotel, now the home of the Alpine Inn, has sought to accommodate its guests for more than a century. Built in 1886, this historical landmark, with its reputation for fine dining, became the showplace of Hill City. Family owned and operated for over two decades, the Alpine Inn carries on this tradition. This popular restaurant has been noted in national and international publications for its friendly, homey atmosphere steeped in mellow Old World Charm, and its delicious meals. The luncheon menu boast both ethnic European as well as contemporary dishes. The famous streamlined evening menu featuring Filet Mignon and the homemade desserts are as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the palate!

The Alpine Inn is the jewel in the crown of South Dakota's restaurants. It is, in one word: Amazing. I can only comment on their dinner foods, which I've had multiple times. The choice is simple: steak or pasta primavera. (You can't go wrong with either.) The dessert menu is expansive, and my recommendation is the bread pudding. All throughout the year, it's important to consider how busy this restaurant is. This last winter, on a night when it was snowing and well below freezing, the wait for a table was more than an hour. I waited because every meal at the Alpine Inn is well worth it. This is the best restaurant in the Black Hills, bar none.

This restaurant in the Black hills is a real nice unique place. The service is great, the menu is limited but that isn't a bad thing. The ranch dressing used on their lettuce wedge is the best! Depending on how hungry you are, pick the 6 or 8 ounce filet mignon. Very tasty and tender cooked to your own liking. The baked potato is very good also. The dessert menu has some very delicious choices to be enjoyed too. We've made it our family tradition when visiting Rapid City.

Food and atmosphere make this place great. First time I went, I didn't think it was worth the wait or money. A couple weeks after going, I found myself wanting to go back. Not just for the food, but for the atmosphere as well. Just something about it makes it fun and enjoyable. I go all the time now.

The Alpine Inn serves a variety of authentic traditional German plates for lunch and steak for dinner. Service is always fast and friendly and the food is awesome. I always try to come here when in Hill City. They accept only cash/check but have an ATM. Definitely recommend.

The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was amazing! I loved the low candle lighting, very romantic. The only negative was...The other costumers and their children were very loud. Kinda killed the romance part of our date, but we still enjoyed the food and hospitality from the staff. We will return.
