This was the second time I've been here and this experience was much better than the first. It could be because we were able to he seated right away or it could be that the atmosphere felt completely different this visit. At any rate, the food was delicious and they were hefty portions, even for lunch and for the kids. The fish and chips, grilled swordfish, coleslaw were exceptional! Definitely will he going back to eat there.

My husband and I went to the Ancient Mariner for our anniversary dinner. Raychel was our server and she was fantastic!! She was friendly and knowledgeable not just about the restaurant but also the local area. The owners personally check on the guests through out the evening. This particular night they had live entertainment that was just incredible. The food was out of this world good and the overall atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back again.

Went here for a Birthday dinner there were about 8 or 9 of us. Hardly anyone else was there and they took forever with the food. Ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which is always usually a good dish but at the ancient mariner it was the worst lobster Mac and cheese I ever had! Paid $27 for it as well and it was just tasteless. It’s bad enough that restaurants in Mystic charge a lot and you expect that when you go there, but the least they could do is actually make their food taste good!

They are not accommodating whatsoever to food allergies and refuse to serve you food that they claim they don’t have when it appears in other dishes. I honestly have never experienced this in any restaurant ever before. Bad for business if I had to say. I am making sure to steer everyone I know from this type of terrible customer service. It’s a shame because I don’t even know how their food tastes and never will.
