The historical environment is simply New England. You will dine in a building that looks, feels, and simply is the 1700’s. I’m not sure of the exact date but I think its 1754. From the dining room to the pub in the basement its charm doesn’t fail. The fireplace in the basement coupled with the musket over the mantel and the live music makes this very tight but quaint pub worth a stop in. The food (as you can see) is quintessential New England. I know this because I’m from New England. Its flavorful, well presented, paired exceptionally well and frankly needed only very minor tweaks. The only cons I can think of are; the restrooms are small and not very nice, the serving staff are a bit abrasive but... that is New England in general, and the serving staff were not knowledgeable at all with their wine selection and what local wines went well with their dishes. I’d recommend looking over the wine list before you go and doing your own research. They would have gotten a full 5 stars if not for those last points.

A cool historic inn refurbished beautifully. We went to the pub downstairs. It was cozy, the staff was great and there was a really good singer/guitarist on a Wednesday night. The reason we went was the food... overall it was great. We didn't like the soups, but the calamari was very good and the lobster ravioli was absolutely fantastic! Perhaps a little pricey, but worth it. We would go again for sure.

Enjoyed 2 lunches there this weekend, Sat (four of us) and Sun. Was as great environment, friendly staff. Seated immediately upstarts. All the meals we tried were great. The Reuben won our survey. The Clam chowder was good. Hope they change the menu occasionally because we have now tried most of the lunch menu.

Just good ol' fashioned pub food. Dinner entrees besides burgers are also very good. Walk around the town, take in the sites maybe a boat ride and wind up here for dinner or lunch. You'll be glad you did. All the local flavor is here!!!

The set menu for restaurant week is awesome. Go for the beef tips followed by pork chop. Though is going with another the beet salad is amazing so share! This menu was so good we went back. We then went for a few starters and shared. The tuna, the muscles and calamari were a fantastic combo and ample for two adults without the need for any mains. Truly fabulous meals. Tomorrow we go back home to Scotland but when we return we absolutely are coming back to CDP!
