Nice place to go hiking on a sunny day. It has a long paved bike trail around the island and hiking trails laced across the island. There are great views of SF, the Bay bridge, and the golden-gate bridge. We went camping here in camp site four and had a great weekend hanging out on the island. The views from the camp site were great and it was a large campsite with a bear box. Taking the ferry from SF was easy and made for a much nicer way to get somewhere to hike than driving. There was lots of historical information at the different stops and landmarks. These included the immigration center, a bunch of batteries where guns used to be, a Nike missile station, and some old military bases. They have some of the buildings open to be toured on specific days, but not until 2018.

Worth the time and expense to get to the island. Wonderful hiking with paved paths/roads to walk. Spectacular scenic views from the island of San Francisco, Alcatraz, and the east bay.

Rented bikes in Road around the island it was really fun actually. Interesting historical sites. Can get food and drinks there so it was a pleasant afternoon.

I question the validity of a 4 to 5 day waiting list. Going to Pier 33 and buying directly seems worth checking in to. Tour was great. Slow long lines to get audio set was the only downside.

This is a great place to come and enjoy amazing views, local history, plants and wildlife. From the ferry ride over to waiting for the ferry back, this is one of my favorite places to visit as often as I can.
