We decided to give this place one more try after the facelift it got inside. When we arrived, we stood inside the door for nearly five minutes waiting while the seating hostess (I think her name was Angela) and several other employees walked past us several times ignoring us. She finally greeted us but didn't seem too sincere with her greeting and we felt as though we were an inconvenience and not welcome. When she took us to our booth, the table was filthy with gross food pieces and water rings from cups still very wet. It didn't look like it had been wiped at all so I politely asked if she could get someone to clean it for us. She went and grabbed a rag herself and wiped half the table and I then had to proceed to point out the rest of the mess for her and she begrudgingly wiped the rest of the mess but not the whole table. Even our 11 year old daughter commented after she walked away that she didn't seem very happy about helping us at all. Our waitress, Jessica, was very nice though. We never were without a drink and she was very polite and attentive to us. When our dinner came out (which was very satisfactory by the way), I opened up my napkin and found a big gross green leaf of some sort dried and stuck to the napkin and silverware. Thankfully we had other clean utensils at the table that I used but I did let our waitress know about it. Then we ordered 2 of the same deserts to go and when we got home later, we noticed one was almost half the size of the other. Portion size should always be consistent, especially in the same dining party. None of these issues were our waitresses fault though but we will not be returning to this location.

Went there to celebrate my Grandmother's birthday.  Worst experience any of us have ever had. Our server Bree went missing for 30 minutes. My plate didn't come out with the rest and I'm unsure if she neglected to put in the order. We asked another woman to grab some plates of the table because it was getting too cluttered. ( Didnt get her name, but she was the best part of dinner.) Our waitress then came back whining to us about how her manager was getting onto her for not getting our plates. Told my Aunt that her mother asked her if she was lesbian before her shift. Overall very inappropriate and sparsely there.

Always good food, nice restaurant. A bar in the middle, good selection of drinks. Can be a little loud when busy.

All the one and two star reviews are absolutely correct. Was told 15 min wait for seating in an empty restaurant, had to ask if empty bar had open seating. Party of 6 at high top table. We counted at least 8 people on the floor.  Had to wait 20 mins for 4 waters and 2 beers.  Had to wait 90 minutes for food, which was awful.  Worse than school cafeteria food.  FIRE THE MANAGER.

My party of 3 arrived at Applebee’s at 6:40 and were relieved to see that there were numerous open tables. The hostess asked us how many were in our party and then left us standing at the door. We quickly realized that two other parties were waiting to be seated even though there were various tables that were clean and empty. A fourth party entered and they were left at the door as well. The gentleman asked if there was a wait and the hostess informed him that there would be a 15-20 minute wait. When he asked her why she ignored him. He asked once again and she told him there had been a large party earlier in the evening. I asked if we could be seated and the hostess did not respond. Because of the poor customer service we received we decided to go next door to Chili’s. The biggest disappointment of the night was that we wasted so much time waiting for a table at Applebee’s that we missed the happy hour at Chili’s. Needless to say, the Sumter branch of Applebee’s needs to step it up.
