I don't really write reviews but let me tell you about this place. I am starting a fresh water tank for the first time. So I decided to stop by here and see what they have. I forget the nice lady and the gentlemen name but they were fantastic. Everything I needed to know they help me out to make a great decision on my journey to a fresh water tank. I will be seeing them again soon and I am buying my fish from them only because they know what they are talking about. Also did I mention that they do not push you away they will answer every question you have. What a place..

The Aqaurium Shop is amazing. Pete has help me allot. I was new to this hobby and i had allot of issues when getting started. I would call Pete and he would have a great answer for all of my questions. The Aqaurium Shop has a great selection of fish and they are in great health. Prices on the fish are fair and there is a huge selection. I recommend anyone who is in the hobby to check this place out!

Best attributes: - the knowledgeable staff - good prices - great selection of live plants and fish! If there's a fish they don't have, you can ask them to order it for you. A lot of people may not know that they have a small selection of other pet items for dogs/cats/reptiles, as well as a small Clearance section for those items. This might be a convenience factor for you. Negative attributes: - dim lighting makes for a gloomy atmosphere - tanks could be maintained better The following negative attributes are personal preferences and may not be a factor for everyone: - low selection in hardscape materials and driftwood - no tissue culture plants - selection of assorted guppies aren't very attractive, although they do carry some of the more specialized strains that are beautiful. I've seen black moscows, white moscows, and bangkok (I can't remember their full name) guppies. I've been coming here for about 8 years and it has been so dim for as long as I can remember. Brighter lights would be such a simple fix to make the shop look so much more inviting and professional! The tanks aren't in great shape. Some tanks have java moss and water wisteria that have completely overtaken the tank. This isn't a bad thing on its own since they sell the plants and it needs a place to be stored of course; the negative is that they also sell fish out of those tanks and it makes it very difficult to see the fish! Every time I've been in the store, most of the fish look lively and healthy. There are some fish I've seen that look like they've been there for years and no one wants to buy, and they're starting to get too big for the store tanks. I've seen a large blood parrot as well as a huge common pleco. The most recent time I was in the store this past week, I noticed about 4 of the tanks have Ich... This is very unfortunate and I hope they are able to treat everything effectively so they don't lose many of their fish. The low selection of hardscapes, driftwood are a personal preference for me as other people may find their selection adequate. They have pebbles and small rocks, but I haven't seen a lot of larger stones, rocks, or driftwood. They also do not carry tissue culture plants. Their selection of assorted guppies are not good. I suspect many of the guppies they're selling are ones they've bred themselves. Many of the guppies have dull, mixed coloration, with no real standout features. There are some gems though, you just have to look closely. One caveat about the prices, I think the prices are great for their livestock, dry food, and frozen foods only! For everything else such as water test kits, lights, filters, etc. I would recommend checking elsewhere first for a better price. Then again, it's expected for a small business to have prices that are higher than chain petstores. If you are financially able, paying a $5-10 difference may be worthwhile since you are investing in a small business for the community.

Great service with very knowledgeable staff. They helped me out big time when my tank had an emergency leak. I'll definitely use them again.

Locally owned pet supply store with a huge selection of fish and aquarium supplies. We come here for reptile supplies and for live feeder mice (our python won't eat frozen). The flickering lights and dingey atmosphere kinda weirded me out at first, but felt better after getting to know the staff (two guys and one lady). They really know their stuff, and the prices are good.
