We recently starting using Petco for our goldendoodle and couldn't be happier! We were using another very popular chain pet store for her grooming and weren't happy with the service we received.  Petco staff is very friendly, they have competitive prices and the grooming team does a great job.

Been using the grooming at this Madison location for a long time & I have spent BIG $ there on food, supplies & grooming. I bring my Pet's shampoo cause what ever bulk shampoo they use causes skin eruptions. This was never a problem before but, today they decided if I didn't agree to buy their store shampoo then no grooming. This strong arm tactic has just cost them a loyal customer! NEVER USE PETCO ANYWHERE!!

I have taken my 3 dogs to Tareika several times, she does an amazing job with all of them.  You can tell she really loves them and is very conscientious about doing everything to your satisfaction.  Would highly recommend her to everyone!

To be fair, the few times we had gone to Petco for dog grooming, they did a good job.  But what I'm writing about here is how rude some of the grooming staff is.  I made an appointment (or tried to) but they couldn't locate our dogs information by phone number.  I asked if they could search by name and they made it sound like it was nearly impossible.  I was then told we had a 2pm appointment but when I went to confirm (same phone call) she said it was 3pm.  Maybe I misunderstood the first time I wrote it down?  So I arrive 4 days later, with my dog, for her grooming appointment.  1st they can't find the appointment in the computer.  I'm like I know I have an appointment. She finds a sticky note under the computer and tells me oh ... I couldn't figure out the issue?  We finally converge on our account (under my x's account) and she tells me they can't take the dog because her rabies shot expired.  When they couldn't find the dog's account to begin with you would think they would let me know this was a requirement and not wait until day of.  Ironically, we were at the vet a hour before and could have provided the cert (had I known).  I was sooooo mad.  So, this is unusual and, like I noted at the start, they do a good job, but have to vent my frustration with incompetent communication skills of the staff.  The end.
