My niece and I stopped by here while on vacation in Naples to check out possibly buying more furniture for her new apartment. We had checked out their items at the website and concluded they seemed to have a nice selection. Hint: "seemed" is the key word here. My first impression as I stepped through the front door and had my first glimpse was that the pieces on display didn't appear nearly as nice as in the photos at the website. They lacked depth and warmth and the polish of real quality furniture. Upon further inspection (I was trying to keep an open mind) any illusions of having found a bastion of quality merchandise that we would be proud to purchase for her quickly dissipated. I encountered several pieces that looked literally as if they were ready to fall apart. Book cases were wobbly, drawers didn't open properly, one board on a bookcase looked as though it was going to fall completely off, etc. What made everything worse was the highly inflated prices. Mind you I don't mind paying more for quality but this is wasn't even mediocre. Most of it seemed like the stuff my parents would have thrown out in favor of real furniture. While some of the knick knacks, dishes and bedding, etc. seemed nice (again that word) I had to wonder on the quality and durability of those too. Appearances can be indeed very deceiving. The service was lacking as well. Two sales people seemed to pounce on us out of nowhere at separate times with the finesse of a bulldog and I swear I could see dollar signs in their eyes as they spoke with us. When we asked any few questions we received a bland expression and vague answers as if they knew less than we did about their own merchandise and had no interest in truly helping us. It was if they were simply to take our order and be done with it. Disappointing all around to say the least. We finally walked out happy to have left the store. I have to mention that the relentless and annoying music didn't help either. The good that came out of it is that it made me look at our 20-year high end furniture (at the time) with even greater appreciation. I had no idea furniture making had devolved that much. In fact I'll be shopping for vintage furniture for my niece after this experience which even she said she would prefer. It's a great store for people with money to burn who are interested in having trendy furniture that they don't mind replacing within 5 years although I doubt many of the pieces will even last that long.
