Story

Snowbowl is now open for 2017/18 winter season!

Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, Arizona Snowbowl is just 7 miles outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon. The resort opened in 1938 and is one of the oldest continually operated ski area in the country.

The slopes at Arizona Snowbowl have undergone some impressive transformations in recent years! As part of the $35M multi-mountain capital improvements campaign, over the past three years Arizona Snowbowl welcomed the expanded snowmaking infrastructure, first new chairlift in 30 years - Humphreys Peak Quad (in 2015-16), Arizona's first high-speed six-person lift - Grand Canyon Express (in 2016-17) and Hart Prairie Quad lift (ready for winter 2017-18) and many other upgrades!

Arizona Snowbowl features 55 trails, eight lifts, three terrain parks, state-of-the-art snowmaking, on-mountain dining options and Ski Lift Lodge and Cabins. With a peak elevation of 11,500 feet and average 240 inches of snowfall, Arizona Snowbowl is a true gem of the Southwest ski scene.

This is a great option for southwest skiing. I’ve been all over Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. The people that are complaining about the price hike the last few years are the same ones that begged for a new chairlift to alleviate the lines at Agassiz lift. The Grand Canyon Express is a great lift to help with traffic flow. Probably the best place I’ve ever been for taking kids skiing (cost wise) all of March they have $29 tickets and $10 lessons and rentals. If you want to get your little ones into skiing or snowboarding it doesn’t get better than that for pricing. Besides kids don’t care about conditions in March they just want to learn. Recap- if they get a foot or so get up to the hill ASAP it melts quickly. And enjoy the new ownership as they will spend the money to make this place great

Unbeatable prices. The staff are all super kind and helpful, and day tickets are so cheap! We got day passes for less than $40 per adult as we went during the off-peak time (non-weekend). Prices for food in the lodges are of course steep, but the savings on day passes make it worth it. The slopes also have a good variety across all levels of difficulty, with quite a range of intermediates as well. Gorgeous views, up-to-date queues and lift organisation. Great value for money all-in-all.

First time visited this place with my family last year during summer and it was an amazing experience. Loved the weather and the beautiful place. It was really fantastic. Definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Family can have fun walking the trails. Good spot for photography.

Very disorganized. Teen staff can't answer any questions. We were a large family party, who have never skied before and were clueless. Nobody could offer any help to get us on the way with rental gear or lift/ lesson info and everything was confusing. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the facility was decently clean and not too pricey. Probably a great place to go if you're local or a seasoned skier, but for a newbie family we were literally left out in the cold without a clue.

Here 20 Jan. Snowing now.. I like this place. Easy to get to and friendly staff. It’s not Utah or Colorado skiing but that’s an unfair comparison. Base is 9,300 ft so with a decent storm, you get pretty good powder over the man made stuff. Just keep an eye on the snow storm. No real discounts in early season but coming from 78 deg Tucson, I’m not complaining. Best deals are the $ 29.00 Spring Ticket or $39.00 with equipment. Brought my kids 4 times last season and had a fantastic time. Hoping to do the same this year.
