Really neat hotel, decor and ambiance. Friendly staff and Williams is a great little town to explore! Can't wait to go back and " mosey" around town. Gets plenty cold, though so have warm clothing in winter months. My old duster coat would work well and fit right in. The railway ride to the canyon is a bit long and I would suggest the best seats as the others aren't as comfortable. It's a 65 mile trip but because of the track layout it takes more than 2 hrs. There is roving entertainment, but the ride is really for the kids. Plus, when you get to the G/C, you don't have a car and have to either take a bus or taxi. Not expensive though and it's fun. Next time, though, we'll skip the train and drive. Sometimes you just want your own car. Will definitely be back. Would like to go with friends next time also. More fun to play cowboy with friends. Enjoy!

Unique fun place to stay. Take the train to Grand Canyon national park. Fun for all ages. Walking distance from shops in Williams quite a few things within walking distance of the hotel, convenience store, restaurants, artists shops, etc. Rooms were good size, clean, no issues during our few day stay. Do a little research ahead of time to get the best value out of your time here. The gift shop was a pleasant surprise, good quality merchandise at reasonable prices. I expected the normal tourist trap and as I said, pleasant surprise. We visited in March and needed to buy a coat, picked up reversible Grand Canyon reversible coat, great quality, warm and did the job. It was great couple of days, i would do it again.

Every detail was attended to by the awesome hotel and bell staff. The buffet meals at the Cafe are second to none, and the room was spacious and well-appointed. Anyone traveling to the Grand Canyon (which cannot be seen - it has to be experienced) would do well to enjoy a travel package that includes stays here, train ride to and from the Park (the luxury dome car is worth it!) and overnight in the park. And if you think you can experience the sheer grandeur and majesty of the Grand Canyon without flying over it in a 50-minute helicopter tour, think again - it adds a sense of scale that you just can't get from the ground. These fantastic people know what they're doing; they do it 364 days a year; and they are very good at it. Most highly recommended!

We stayed in the RV park associated with the hotel and were given key fobs for the swimming pool. The hotel itself seems nice, we weren't in a room though, so we aren't sure. The pool however; was a nightmare. The chlorine (although they tried telling us it was a salt water pool) was cranked up so high, it burned our eyes just sitting in the pool area. There were LOADS of unaccompanied minors running around and diving in the pool, one landed on my daughter's head. It was definitely reaching capacity, and there were no employees around to monitor or any lifeguards. When we complained at the front desk, they sent a maintenance person to "check the chlorine levels", but he assured us that it's just a salt water pool. Regarding the massive amounts of unaccompanied children, they just told us that it was spring break and to be expected. :/ We discussed it with other patrons and we all agreed about the experience. Disappointing.

Really neat little trip! The ride is nice and relaxing and they have the nicest staff working on the train. Linda Lou and Amber were the nicest and most accommodating people ever! The guy who played the sheriff was also so nice and also entertaining. They will do anything they can to help you enjoy your experience. They also will give interesting facts about the areas as you travel through. We took our 80 year old grandma who is in a wheelchair, and they helped so much. She had a wonderful time. We also took the bus tour and it was great too. Jim, our guide was also incredibly helpful as well as informative. We took the tour with the lunch buffet ( the Grand Tour), but I would probably recommend the other tour (Freedom) without the buffet and get lunch somewhere else. It would be cheaper, as meals are between$10-12, vs the $20 extra per person that we paid for the buffet which had salad, meatballs and sauce, penne pasta, macaroni and cheese, chicken stir fry, fish fillets, beef stew, soup, chili, rolls, a small selection of deserts, and soft drinks or tea as choices. I am not sure if that is always the buffet menu, but I think it would be better to choose one of the lodges for lunch. It was really nice to have someone else do all the driving and ride on the train so everyone could enjoy the scenery.
