I’ve been to the ER at 1am with severe stomach pain, was seen immediately by both nurses and Drs. They found out what was wrong immediately and had surgery that day. I was in extreme pain and scared to death and they relieved me of all of it. They were highly professional and caring I have MS and they were very considerate of that as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone

Sitting in the er with my husband and called to let them know his iv machine was beeping. Was told they would be in and 1 hour later we are still beeping. Poor patient care.

Kinda irrated already been here with my dad for about an hr, and I've seen the lpn twice and she has no clue about anything w my father's health. I am a CNA myself and I know more then her, on top of that is it in the privacy of there own patients to have a privacy curtain in there rooms, but hey I'm just a CNA for 12 years what do I know....

Mercy medical billing department quoted me an estimate of patient responsibility for a surgical procedure that was $1100 under what my actual patient costs were, which for me is a significant amount of money. This estimate was not off because of complications in my surgery resulting in additional costs, but rather, because of an error on their part. I contacted the billing department prior to my surgery to inquire about my costs, specifically what they would charge my insurance company as I would be responsible for 20% of the total as my copay. The representative quoted me 20% of the cost of the patient pre-payment plan (the plan you use if you do not have insurance and can pay upfront for your procedure), not 20% of what Mercy would charge my insurance company. I was surprised at how low the cost was and the representative assured me this was correct. The representative, however, made a mistake. Unfortunately, they refused to acknowledge the error on the part of their employee who had misquoted me and only offered a monthly payment plan resolution if it was a financial hardship to pay. To be clear, I do not want anyone to get in trouble for this error, my hope is only that the person who misquoted me is trained on the correct procedure for quoting patient estimates so that this does not happen to someone else. Hospital experience was fine, but the lack of responsiveness to their obvious mistake in the billing department is very disappointing to me. My advice to you if you have to go to Mercy for a planned surgery is to double check with two different billing representatives about the estimate of what you as the patient will be responsible for. This was a very disappointing experience. Update: so I emailed as the corporate reply to my review instructed (even though I had already reached out to the billing department which is how I found out about their error in the first place) and over a week later, still no response. People will have to draw their own conclusions here, but their billing department made a mistake, they are unwilling to take responsibility for their mistake, and clearly unwilling to follow up here. It is so disappointing that I now suffer the consequence of their mistake, especially frustrating that I reached out before my procedure to make sure that this type of situation (being shocked by a large medical bill) wasn't going to happen.
