Went to the ER tonight and saw "Dr. Shanna Paul" due to severe pain and bleeding from a surgery I had less than a week ago. She spent more time arguing that they had diagnosed me with cellulitis 4 days ago(which they never did) and it should be on my discharge paper work (that I never recieved) than she actually did looking at me! I have went there 2 times in the last week due to bleeding and pain with being unable to walk from the incision from my surgery. They have done nothing besides put me on a usless medication that my primary was shocked they put me on and told me to stop taking right away. Both times I have left in twice the amount of pain than when I came in with NOTHING for pain. And with her arguing about the diagnosing with cellulitis she had not put ANYTHING about me having that on this discharge paperwork that I made sure I received. This place is a complete joke. Dr. Paul I would be ashamed of yourself as well as the staff around you for making people AFRAID to come in to the emergency room.

The Emergency Room staff is terrible! You are better off waiting to see your primary doctor unless you have a very obvious injury. I brought my 3 year old in, presenting with a bad cough and 103 fever. It took over an hour for a doctor to see her. She had six different nurses rotating through (terrible continuity of care!). One of these nurses decided to offer her a heated blanket, which proved to me that they clearly had no idea why she was there! The doctor came in, looked at her ears and said she had an ear infection. I pushed for him to look further, as my daughter has had a lot of ear infections, and that is now how she was presenting herself. He did a chest xray, which he said was clear. In the end, they discharged us with a diagnosis of ear infection with fever. I did not trust this diagnosis, so i took her to her pediatrician the following day. The pediatrician pulled up the notes from her ER visit and saw that the Radiologist on that evening had noted clear pneumonia on the chest xray that we were told was clean! She also looked in my daughter's ears to see they were perfectly clear, no infection! Had I listed to the ER doctor, my daughter would be even worse off right now. This is terrifying that he is allowed to practice and not give proper diagnosis!!

Major surgery after a traumatic accident. I can't say enough by way of praise for the ER docs, surgeons, nurses, and CNA's who cared for me. I am so thankful for the help I received at Aspirus.

I made a 5am ER visit for an ankle sprain with my husband a month ago - quick service and knowledgeable staff. A nurse brought a wheelchair out to me (with my husband asking for assistance). The total visit took an hour with no waiting, likely since it was so early on Monday morning.

Wow, terrible specialists and lack of compassion and communication. Coughing up blood and terrible phlegm DAILY. One specialist, pulmonary, says it's another's, GI, area. The 2nd pulmonary Dr was great and did a bronchoscopy to find nodules in my upper lobe. Cultures sent to Madison. I was told a week after the doctor was notified that I had tuberculosis. I teach, dip you know how many people I could have infected? Then I was told a few days later I didn't have it. During a follow up wut my primary physician I was told I did have TB and was quarantined until a definitive test cane back, that my primary Dr did. It was negative for TB but positive for a fungal disease. FIVE months later I still don't have an answer and now go to Marshfield where they really care about their patients.
