I have never felt discriminated against in my entire life, but I experienced it for the first time when i went to this store on 10/12/2017. I had gone there a few days before and had a great interaction with Stephanie and Giselle, however when i went back to go through with my purchase, i encountered a female representative who was rude to me and my husband. She told us that we needed to show an ID (which we had) and my husband's Social Security Card. When he told her he didn't have it on him, she said she couldn't help us. I asked her why it was necessary, and she claimed that it was company policy as they "get a lot of people doing fraud, and using other people's identities."  She said this while looking at my husband with a crude face.
Now, i thought at first maybe i was overreacting, but the more i thought about it, the more it did not make sense. I have never been asked for my SS card to purchase anything, and who now a days carries their SS card around with them? My husband and I are both Mexican-American (I am 2nd generation, he is 1st), however he does have darker skin than I. I was very disturbed by this. We were not made aware of this "company policy" when we went in to the same store a few days prior, and we spoke extensively with the two other reps who did not make any mention of needing our SS card. We simply could not close the deal because they did not have the phone my husband wanted in stock. 
We ended up going to another AT&T store and received excellent service from Salvador, who did not need my husband's Social Security Card in order to open an account for us, and informed me that it is not "company policy". If i could give no stars to rate this store, I would, and i will NEVER refer anyone to this store.
