On March 16, 2019 approximately between 2-2:30 pm I was verbally attacked with racial slurs by an African American woman. This woman went to the police and accused me White woman of saving seats in the food court and not allowing people to sit down. I was saving seats for a church group that was going to see a concert at the arena that evening. We are not from ATL so I was standing at the seats for our church group to see me and not panic if they got lost. We had young people with us. Two African American police officers approached me to find out what happened. I tried to explain my story while the other woman was still verbally saying racial slurs to me. I explained to the police officers that she was able to sit at the end of the table and share it with our group. She continued to say verbal racial slurs and the police officers allowed her to continue. I felt that I was not being protected by the ATL officers in the CNN building. I felt these AA police officers were supporting this woman with her racial slurs. One of the officers said, "This is like prison everyone has to share the table" "Sit down or leave". Our group sat down to eat. I left to file a complaint with the company on the woman's jacket. I am very disappointed at the ATL officers for allowing this woman to sit at our table with venting her comments and dropping the F word in front of a 6 year old. I would have expected the officers to have asked the woman to leave because of her behavior. However, I at first hand, experienced racism in a horrible way from this woman and the two AA ATL Officers at the CNN Police Department. I am not comfortable with visiting the CNN headquarters with security that allows racial slurs.
