I love this place. I am aware this is a school, so I make appointments at times when I know I have nothing else to do that day so will not be in a rush. I expect to be there 2 or 2.5 hours. I love the playful atmosphere. The hair-wash spa is awesome, it sets the mood for the rest of the haircut. I sit back and relax. We can chat, or I can get into a kind of a meditative state, enjoying the feel of fingers on my scalp and watching my hair looking better and better by the minute. Students are really into it, and very careful. And I know the instructors are there if anything needs to be fixed. I wish they let us tip the students. Each haircut so far, over the past couple of years, has been good. But the last two, with Michaela, were fantastic - some of the best cuts I ever had, and I had some good ones over the decades. I have been getting lots of compliments on my haircut and I intend to keep coming back.

Sad to say, but this school is not respectful of black students and I do NOT recommend this school to anyone looking to attend an school for cosmetology. My daughter is currently a student and on several occasions she has been harassed by the receptionist in the front and nothing was done about it. She was sent home and the person whom is the receptionist up front continued to work the rest of the day. You pay $25K for a year and they run out of products on a regular. So how can you teach when you do not have the products? What is the money paying for? Students are not allowed to speak with the director for any reason. She sits in her office and ignores students and parents. I called and tried to make a appointment and of course she did not answer the phone. this is not a school that treats black students with the same respect as they treat white students. Or is the RECEPTIONIST up front do not like a student they are allowed to 'pick' with students. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE FOR SCHOOL OR EVEN A SERVICE! They feed you a pipe dream when you do a tour that this is the best school ever! I had a friend go there and get her hair died black and when she came out it was bright red in the sun.

Went and got a botanical facial +plant peel. I could honestly say I'd be happy with just the facial, but still was perfect/relaxing. The lady who did my facial (Laura) did an amazing job! Walked in for my appointment with some breakouts cause of stress, but after my facial I was surprised when I saw that a lot had honestly disappeared/faded. Planning on going again in a few weeks before she graduates!

I went for color and a haircut. The color is great, but worst haircut of my life. The student that was only 2 weeks away from graduation could not cut in a straight line. My hair ended up FOUR inches shorter than requested and the style was nothing like the picture I brought with me. Also it was not a professional environment more like a high school.

Not the student fault. They are learning and the salon spa Reminds you of this befor the apt even begins. However, I understand that everyone needs to practice and that's what we are here for. But if you charge your clients what a licensed stylist does. Then please make sure your instructor stays with the client (when you have a nervous student.) Bc when the instructor walks away and I'm left for an hour with a student who gave me the best they could. But I came in because I thought it was the actual aveda salon. And was duped to stay at the school. I felt a little used. If I had walked in originally knowing this was a school. Yes my fault. But when I come in inquiring about salon prices for the spa or haircuts. Please you should have sent me the actual salon like I requested instead of duping me into staying and getting a very bad haircut.
